Anyone been to "The Forbidden Zone"? (A JVC release showcasing their 20-bit K2 CD mastering system) You'll probably recognize keyboardist Tom Coster's name from his association with Carlos Santana. The Players: Tom Coster - Keyboards, Producer, Mixing, Synthesizer Bass Jeff Andrews - Electric Bass Bob Berg - Tenor Sax (recently departed ) Dennis Chambers - Drums Scott Henderson - Guitar Alphonso Johnson - Electric Bass, Fretless Bass Karl Perazzo - Percussion, Conga, Timbales, Tympani Raul Rekow - Conga, Chant, Chekere, Bata The Music: Melodic rhythmic fusion. Those that recognize the players will know that this is no lightweight group. The Forbidden Zone is one of those CDs that a few months ago mysteriously vanished from my collection. Thankfully, yesterday it resurfaced from beneath a pile of magazines. Whew! Now if only my copy of Joey DeFrancesco's The Champ: Round 2 would reappear. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Sorry I'm late...yeah, i'm hip! That one's smokin! I've got a couple of Tom's Cds besides this one (including From the Street and From Me To You, and that's probably the best!
Oh, yeah, I was sorry to hear about Bob Berg(RIP)...I really liked his playing, I especially loved his collaborations with keyboardist Jim Beard... [Edited 9/10/04 14:16pm] " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout | |
