Shame there was no room for Working Day & Night, In The Closet, Give In To Me, Will You Be There, Scream, Earth Song, They Don't Care About Us, Morphine, Whatever Happens or Break Of Dawn. Other than that it's pretty good. smile

CB, you want it all. You won't be satisfied until he gives you the key to his vault, right? wink

Anyway, I think its a nice cover art. 'Number Ones' was good but this is really something that looks really amazing.

Does anyone know what kind of styles the unreleased songs are?

I just think that those songs deserve inclusion on a retrospective like this. Hell, why didn't he just make it a six disc set? smile

Also, I'm a little disappointed with the DVD. A Bad era show would've been more appreciated. confused

Yeah. less lip-synching.

Disc five, "Live in Bucharest":
"Jam" mad
"Wanna Be Startin' Something"
"Human Nature"
"Smooth Criminal" mad
"I Just Can't Stop Loving You"
"She's Out of My Life"
"I Want You Back"/"The Love You Save"
"I'll Be There"
"Thriller" mad
"Billie Jean"
"Working Day & Night"
"Beat It"
"Will You Be There" mad
"Black or White" mad
"Heal the World" mad
"Man in the Mirror" mad

mad = lip-synched.

The pics make that box set seem really cheap for some reason - they could have done a much better job with the artwork and disc design.

This guy really has NO TALENT!!!!! How many more "Greatest Hits" type packages is this no talent fuck going to whore out to the public

Since he got caught paying a kid for rape in 1993. EVERY Project (except the $70 Million Budget Invincible) Has been with a Greatest Hits Package tagged to it lol )

1) History (Had Greatest Hits because HE knew the public wouldnt want to hear his new shit)

2) Blood on the Dance Floor ( Had Greatest Hits too)

3) Inivincible ( the ONLY project with all new music on it's own and IT BOMBED )

4) Number Ones (Hey another Greatest Hits Package )

5) Box Set (WOW another Greatest Hits Package Does he have NO shame.. )

i'll answer each comment in turn.

1. Wrong. people were interested. it shifted 15 million units. highest selling double album of all time. Earth Song was his biggest selling single ever despite not getting a release in the states. however 'You are not alone' went straight in at #1 on Billboard. That had never happened before.

2. No it didn't.

3. Again wrong. 8 or 9 million sold by anyone is not to be considered a flop. Sony screwed that album there are at least 3 classic MJ tracks on there IMO.

4. His first stand alone Greatest Hits Package.

5. This isn't a greatest hits set in the slightest. sure it has a few hits, but there is a lot of obscure and lesser known songs on it to keep the fans happy too. I don't suppose he takes into consideration all the haters when he puts his projects together. Why should he give a fuck what they have to say anyway?

And for a guy who has 'no talent' he's sure had a long career and a lot of hits over the years. i wonder why.

I'll let your fuckwit rape comment go. You advertised your own stupidity loud and proud for all to see all on your own.

Wrong. A few years ago, Sony released a single-disc version of HIStory (ie. just disc one), with all the hits on it. The cover had MJ's dancing feet on it.

Im just waiting for MJ to release 4 seperate editions of this boxed set to make collecting "fun"

Remember Invincible when he released 5 colors of the cd cover so naive people would buy them all.
Same with the Number ones album- 4 different covers.

LOL watch it happen

It's just strange they don't include "Scream", of all songs. I just don't understand why they can't release a decent collection of his stuff that includes all the hits and more. I'm not that big a fan that I would pick this up unless it's shockingly cheap, which it won't be.

christ, what a mess. the extras should have been included with the remastered albums a couple years ago. the new stuff should be on a comprehensive greatest hits/best of (and no, i don't mean that bullshit #1's album from last year, or even the first disc of History). and the DVD... why bother?

B. Does anyone know if the new and previously unreleased stuff is any good?

Well, from the rare songs, I ve heard Someone put your hand out and Monkey Business. Both really incredible songs!
SOmeone put your hand out is not a fast record, not even slow. It´s a bit mid-tempo balad. Mike sings in his higher register. It has beautiful melody. The song is like "flying". I don´t know how better to discribe it. And BEAUTIFUL lyrics. One of my favourites.

SOMEONE PUT YOUR HAND OUT
I'm so undemanding
'cause they say love is blind
I've lived this life pretending
I can bear this hurt deep inside
The truth is that I'm longing
For love that's so devine
I search this whole world wishing shell be there
Time after time

Someone put your hand out
I'm begging for your love
All I do is hand out
A heart that needs your love

I've lived my life a lonely
A soul that cries of shame
In handicaped emotions save me now
While the wound still remains
I'll be your story hero
I'll serenade in rhyme
I' m just needing at someone save me now
Come out of my mind

Someone put your hand out
Begging for your love
'Cause all I do is hand out
A heart that needs your love

Someone put your hand out
(I'm begging for your love)
Begging for your love
All I do is hand out
A heart that needs your love

When you say we will dance until the light of day
It's just like the children of earth's joy
When we pray
Will you promise me you'll always stay
It's because I'm needing that someone

Someone put your hand out
I'm begging for your love
All I do is hand out
A heart that needs your love

Someone put your hand out
I'm begging for your love
All I do is hand out
A heart that needs your love
Someone put your hand out
I'm begging for your love
All I do is hand out love

ANd Monkey business has a strong melodic base. Michael sings with his deep voice. Great melody again. I really love that song.
I am dissapointed that it doesn´t contain Xcape. Which is fabulous song. Better than any off Invincible. It´s a fast song. Something like Tabloid Junkie with more "dangerous album" sound. Great melody! Michale sings the verse in a really deep voice, but the chorus i great. Killing background vocals. Fantastic melody. With great effects to give you the impression of Xcape (it could remind you of Madonna´s Die another day too, maybe) And great lyrics as well. Can´t find them right now, but if I will, I´ll post them for you.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Finally found the Escape lyrics. So here they come...

Every where I turn no matter where I look
The systems in control its all ran by the book
I gotta get away so I can free my mind
Escape is
What I need
(lectric') lectric eyes

No matter where I am I see my face around
They pin lies on my name and put them town to town
Don't have a place to run but there's no need to hide
I got ta
Find a place
So I can
Hide away

Escape/
Gotta get away from the system, rules and the world today
Escape/
The pressure that I feel from relationships had to go away/
Escape/
The man with the pen that writes the lies that has no ink/
Escape/
I do what I wanna cuz I gotta be nobody but me

Sometimes I feel like....I've gotta get away

I tried to share my life with someone I could love
But games and money is all she ever thought of
How could that be my fault when she gambled and lost?
I'm tired of
Silly games
Time to
Make a change
Why is it I cant do whatever want to?(hoah)
When in my personal life freind i dont live for you(you!)
So don't you try to (don't you try it) tell me what is right for me
To be con, cerned about you
I cant do
What I want to

Escape/(I got ta)
Gotta get away from the system, rules and the world today (I gotta get away)
Escape/
The pressure that I feel from relationships had to go away (don't you know that
baby)
Escape/
The man with the pen that writes the lies that has no ink (I gotta get away)
Escape/
I do what I wanna cuz I gotta be nobody but me (Get away!)

Escape/
Gotta get away (don't you try it) from the system, rules and the world today
(escape…)
Escape/
The pressure that I feel (pressure that I'm feelin everyday) from relationships
had to go away/
Escape/
The man with the pen that writes the lies that has no ink (come
on now)
Escape/
I do (come on now) what I wanna cuz I gotta be nobody but me

When I go
Oh, now
This problem world won't brother me
This problem world (this problem world)
Won't worry me (worry me!) no more

Escape
Escape
Escape
Escape

Escape/
Gotta get away from the system, rules and the world today (I can find a way!)
Escape/
The pressure that I feel from relationships had to go away (pressure that I'm
feelin)
Escape/
The man with the pen that writes the lies that has no ink (writing all those
lies)
I do what I wanna cuz I gotta be nobody but me (escape and then I do just what
I wanna)
Escape/
I gotta get away from the system, rules and the world
today
Escape/
The pressure that i feel from relationships had to go away (See,
I've gotta get away, baby)
Escape/
The man with the pen that writes the lies that has no ink (The man that writes
the lies)
I do what I wanna cuz I gotta be nobody but me
Escape/
gotta get away- (hoah, tell my mother….I gotta get away)
Escape/
The pressure that I feel- (Take it no more!)
Escape/
The man with the pen- (I can't take this kinda shit no more!)
Escape/
I do what I wanna cuz I gotta be nobody but me

Escape…

Sometimes you just wanna escape, you wanna escape

Gotta get outta here!
Ah,
Escape
gotta get away
Escape
You want me, come and get me
The pressure that I feel- Escape
The man with the pen -get away….
I do what I wanna-
I do what I wanna cuz I gotta be nobody
But me
Do what I wanna!

Escape

Yeah Dag, "xscape" is a good track (sounds more like "Speed demon" to me though, which is NOT a Bad thing) but u musta heard "for all time" and "Serious effect", both songs r classics in my opinion! "Serious effect" has some of the most inventive backing vox by jacko i've ever heard!

Have u also heard "if u don't love me", an odd, rocky track in the same vein as janet's "What'll I do".....very,very simple lyrics.....I like it though!

"Monkey business" is an original track that only Mike could do (same with "Serious effect"), this uniqueness was missing on History and Invincable album with a few execptions.....though "unbreakable" is classic Jackson that was dying to be the first single from "Invincable"!

These few outtakes we will be getting have huge potential people.....and I know their r 100's more locked in his vault that could be very, very good.....I hope we get a prince Crystal ball soon.....

Yes I have those songs. They´re all fast and you can tell they were recorded in Thriller era. I think the best song out of these 3 is Hot Street. BTW it´s Michaels favorite song! He wanted it on the album. He thought it could have been a huge hit, but Quincy and Rod Temperton didn´t like it that much. He said that on Mexican depositon tape in 1993.
But sorry, I don´t know where to find them. I got them from a friend.

Yeah I have serious effect as well. Great song! Dangerous album type of song! And I love the album Dangerous. It´s great.

Haven´t heard If you don´t love me though. Iĺl try to get it.

Has anyone heard a song called Midnight groove? Or something like that. There was once on the internet a tiny piece of it. It were just Michael´s vocals, but the melody was just breathtaking.

Damn I wish he would release all that!!!! I am sure he has enough great material to release another 10 albums!

"The key to re-hearing the music of the biggest album in music history is Michael's voice. All of the tools that he'd been developing since 'I Want You Back' are in full effect. The grace, the aggression, the growling, the natural boyishness, the falsetto, the smoothness - that combination of elements that mark him as a major vocalist are abundantly clear. Just as he learned from Stevie Wonder, Jackie Wilson and James Brown, Michael has educated R. Kelly, Usher, Justin Timberlake and countless others with Thriller as the textbook."

It's disgusting! Why even mention usher and timberlake on such a big project? mad
