marky mark and the funky bunch is a breath of rap fresh air!

I can't believe I found my marky mark and the funky bunch album again!

"Music for the people" (1991)

I love loads of types of rap and this pop/rap stands strong even today! Thanx to huge, mega noisy, sample sreeeching samples, the music has a fresh quality to it.....the raps may be weak, but r funny nonetheless!

"Good vibrations" must be a classic in Gay clubs thanx to it being mark Wahlberg and thanx to a snap like monster/ aerobics beat and a screaming woman on the chorus.....this song will make anyone dance, a great feel good song that is hard as hell on the dancefloor.....the video was very gay too.....with mark wahlberg with no shirt on doing weights the whole time!

"Music 4 the people" "Bout time I funk u" (very funky this one) "marky mark is here".....Those r my favs.....I really do dig the public enemy/nwa like production (everything mega loud and in ur face).....hunt it down now!

R u gong to laugh at me? Come on, everyone must rememeber "Good vibrations"?

That's no surprise since now he is a respectable and actually pretty good actor! Disposable music is the best.....so called "Serious" artists I used to listen 2 was a waste of time.....lifes too short to be embarrassed and 2 not listen to so-called naff music.....music meant to be fun!

I've come full circle with listening to more serious acts.....time to have a laugh I say!

cheesy music IS fun! if i can listen to my spice girls cds (that's right, i said cd"s"...plural, lol) then you can listen to your marky mark cd! not every bit of music needs to be some groundbreaking thought-provoking piece of work.

cheesy-fun is subjective, it's true. while i'd rather jab a screwdriver repeatedly into my crotch than be subjected to the dulcet tones of mr. mark and the funky bunch, nobody better touch my ELO albums or my Xanadu soundtrack!

Hey... Xanadu is pretty good. Not that hideous movie with rollerskating muses, but the soundtrack. All of Jeff Lynne's songs started to sound alike, but hey, still pretty decent. wink

As for ELO , I actually used to like alot of their stuff. They wrote some cool songs for that time period on the soundtrack. It was a shame that the movie was a piece of cheese.

oh man, i'm not kidding around with the xanadu. it's one of the very few albums i can perform a cappella from beginning to end, complete with sparkle-motion dance moves and hyper-enthusiastic jazz hands. dancing jig

All right then, admit an act or artist that would now be considered unfasgionable or lame becaue the music has become "dated" or whatever? Everyone has at least 1 dont they?

I have the Marky Mark cassette. I actually had 2 of the songs burned to a CD, "Wildside" & "Good Vibrations," because I couldn't find it for sale. I love those songs.
