Went to the UMF (Urban Music Festival) down in earls court, London earlier this year.

Artists included ----- Jay-Z, Alicia Keyz, Kevin Little, ATL, Cassidy, Amy Winhouse, Beyonce, The Roots, Andrew Roachford etc etc etc.

Too bad Prince wernt there as it would have been even better as it's proper name was The Princes Trust presents Urban Music Festival 2004 although in this case Prince = The prince of fucking wales

Ive also seen Michael Jackson at Wembley Stadium for his HIStory tour (LOL i didnt think we were talkin bout past concerts as well)

Ive stood outside Wembley Arena and listened to 50 Cent live (as i didnt get tickets, but thats wat me and my mates usually do as we aint got cash to get tickets and Wembley arena is like a 10min walk away from me LOL)

Apparently I'm going to see Bilal this weekend. I've only listened to him once or twice, but my friends got an extra ticket, so... I''ll let everyone know how it went. biggrin

Other than that, I really haven't seen much outside of Prince 5 times in June.

oops, I forgot to answer some of this question...

for the shows I've seen this year, the best have been Prince, the Cure and Peaches.

Peaches gets special honorable mention for blasting it's way into my "top five kewl First Avenue shows" lists smile

I'm excited about many of my upcoming shows...Paul van Dyk cos he's my DJ boyfriend, Franz Ferdinand cos I've heard they rock live, Scissor Sisters cos I wanna see Jake nude, etc smile

I've seen Seal, Lenny Kravitz, Amp Fiddler and Ronan Keating (the last one was for free and I just watched it in case he might perform his cover version of Let Her Down easy wink ). Amp Fiddler was by far the best, in fact it was an awsome concert nod.
I also had tickets for David Bowie, but the show was cancelled sad

Concerts I've Missed:

This year has been really strange for me concert-wise. A lot of my favorites have been performing, but I couldn't see them either because of geographical conflicts or work. Just look...

Janet Jackson (Hollywood) - Missed her perform at the Ryan Seacrest show because I was in college out-of-state.

Nelly Furtado (Detroit) - Missed this show because it was on the same day as my college graduation and I was moving out of my apartment.

Scissor Sisters (New York) - Missed this free gig because I was at work.

Res (Los Angeles) - I missed her two August shows because I was in New York. The day after I came back from New York to L.A. she's done!

Amel Larrieux (New York) - I missed this show because I was moving from New York to L.A. She performed on the 31st. I left on the 30th.

I'm not even gonna mention how I missed seeing these singers live:

Franz Ferdinand
Black Eyed Peas
Brandy
Prince
Patti Labelle (in Central Park)
Nas & Busta Rhymes (in Central Park)

The only concert I saw this year was Floetry and their free gig at Central Park's SummerStage '04.

My timing is horrible as hell this year!! AHHHHH!!!!!

I saw The Isley Brothers in February and Prince in June. There have been many other concerts advertised but none that I would wish to attend.

I used to go to so many shows... I need to start going to more again.

This year, I think I've only seen:

Prince (simulcast in the theater),
Live
Maroon 5
and some local acts

I could still check out the Beastie Boys this weekend... hmmm

And Stings coming up... although I haven't even bought his latest cd. Somehow I lost interest in him. I just got the All This Time dvd though. drool And Annie Lennox is opening for him...

I've gone to the following:

Rick James
Teena Marie (2x)
Morris Day and the Time
Prince

I'm very particular about concerts. I don't want to hear any tracks played, I want to hear real background singers. I don't need to see alot of dancing and flashy stuff, that just shows me that you're lacking in some area.

Would love to see

Angie Stone
Anthony Hamilton
