Psykosoul's Jam of the Day: Tempted Front if you want to, but this song was and still is the jam. Was browsing through the shelves and hadn't heard Squeeze in a mighty long time. I remembered Burger King using this in ads against their competitors a few years ago. In many ways I think these guys were the predecessors for Level 42.
I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste, a flannel for my face Pajamas, a hairbrush, new shoes and a case. I said to my reflection, Let's get out of this place. Passed the church and the steeple, the laundry on the hill Billboards and the buildings Memories of it still keep calling And calling But forget it all I know I will Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered What's been going on Now that you have gone There's no other Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered I'm at the carpark, the airport, the baggage carousel The people keep on grabbing, ain't wishing I was well I said, "It's no occasion. It's no story I can tell." At my bedside, empty pocket, a foot without a sock Your body gets much closer I fumble for the clock, alarmed by The seduction I wish that it would stop Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered What's been going on Now that you have gone there's no other Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered I bought a novell, some perfume, a fortune all for you But it's not my conscience that hates to be untrue. I asked of my reflection, Tell me what is there to do? Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered What's been going on Now that you have gone there's no other Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered

Great number. I always compared these New Wave lads' song to those old Soul numbers. Although I wouldn't begin to compare them to Level 42.

Man,I just LOVE this song!! This is one of the most underrated songs of the 80s.A truly brilliant song...very bluesy and soulful, with incredible lyrics and a wonderful lead vocal by Paul Carrack.I remember seeing the video alot in the early days of MTV (1981/82).My favorite part...

Are you shitting me? I've got to hear that! It's live. I'll see if I can make an mp3 and put it up for you to download. I can't remember if I have this on cd, or if it's a cassette single. I'll try to dig it up. I've been in the sharing mood lately.

Cool tune for sure. (What if Paul Carrack was vocalist/keys in Level 42) tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Hey even if it wasn't a hit I'd like this song. Paul Carrack is a great singer, and could definetly have passed as a blue eyed soul singer( even though he has brown eyes ). I can't say I've heard everything from squeeze, but they're a group I'd check out one of these days when the budget has room for a new album. Jeux Sans Frontiers
