The original Alma-Tadema Art Case Steinway - with fine-art decorations by world-famous artist Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema in 1887 - has been described by Christie's in London as "the most artistic piano ever produced." That, says Mazurco, made the Alma-Tadema Art Case an ideal candidate as the inaugural piano in Steinway's Legendary Collection." As one of the most famous Steinway piano ever made," Mazurco points out, "it was fitting that the Alma-Tadema be the first masterpiece recreated for the Legendary Collection." Priced at $675,000, the Alma-Tadema re-creation is an exacting re-creation of the original piano created more than a century earlier. In October of 2002 we sold the Alma-Tadema re-creation to Devoe Moore of Tallahassee Florida. It is currently on public display at the Tallahassee Antique Car Museum, also owned by Moore. In 1997, the original Alma-Tadema was sold by Christie's at auction for $1.2 million, setting a record for a piano sold at auction. http://www.yodaslair.com/...tadema.htm I was at the museum's initial unveiling of this expensive gaudy monstrosity. As ugly as it is, the instrument sounds incredible. Moore's museum houses an amazing collection of cars and other rare items. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I've always liked keyboards. One Christmas we got one of those keyboards with numbers. The songbook had corresponding numbers as well. I remember playing "One Less Bell to Answer" and "Camptown Races."
Later on I had a couple of Casio's. Those pre-recorded beats were fun. I used to play "Planet Rock." But, Prince won't be looking to hire me anytime soon. Trust.

Grandpa gave me a hand-made upright piano by his friend to me when I graduated from high school as a gift. The 1st thing he asked me to play was "Autumn In New York", I neva felt so happy in my life like that moment esp after watching my ol' man's face beaming with joy.
