Dear fellow Prince heads,
There was a time I considered myself to be the biggest Prince fan there was. That may have been due to the fact that everyone I knew either hated him or just didn't like him as much as I did. But upon discovering this site I have found out that there are fans who share my intense love for this man's music....some maybe even more than I do! I find it almost embarrasing to call myself a Prince fan and not even have have ONE bootleg. I have ALL the stuff you can buy in the stores, but outside of that I have nothing. I hear you all mention songs that I would LOVE to hear. I wanted to join the NPG music club(the $100 dollar charge is NOT a problem), but I don't have a credit card and I really don't want to get one...especially for just a $100 dollar need....I deal mostly with cash and cash alone! I was wondering if any of you can help me to get my hands on some bootleg stuff! I play my Prince cd's and tapes to death and I would love to hear some of the underground stuff circulating among the Prince fams. Thanks!

Well I think if you email the NPGMC and talk with them about it, I'm sure you can work something out?! They have been helpfull with me and I'm sure they'll help you,.. I mean just because you haven't got a C.Card doesn't mean you shouldn't be a member of the NPGMC, I'm sure they'd love to help you because they want another 100$

There are also still "napster type" share sites that are free and still up. I use on called limewire.com. Once you download the application, you querie any artist you want and a list of files comes up. Then you simply click on the file you want and start your download. If you have DSL or High Speed Cable, you an get the files within minutes. If you only have regular dial-up, it obviuously will take longer.

I've gotten alot of great bootlegs there. I've burned about five cd's worth of Prince bootlegs alone, and it was all free! Live stuff, rare stuff, covers, you name it.
