Well, you've probably already heard this cd, since's it's from '95 (I think) but "Return of the Space Cowboy" by Jamiroquai is a very cool cd....It's funky as hell and Jay Kay's vocals are very jazzy and soulful. If you haven't heard it then you definitely should...Jamiroquai is a really great band....especially their first three cd's ("Emergency on Planet Earth," "Return of the Space Cowboy," and "Travelling Without Moving.")

Just thought of 2 really mind blowing albums that most of you probably have NOT heard...John Frusciante, the guitar player from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is currently releasing approx 7 SOLO cd's THIS YEAR alone (their "solo" cd's but all instruments are played, not just guitar, and he has a friend or two playing on the tracks as well)....The first one, called "Shadows Collide With People" IS DEFINITELY MIND BLOWING....and the one after it, "The Will To Death," is just as great if not better. I don't know if this is your bag or not.....Are you familiar with Frusciante's history? He left RHCP to become a heroine addict, practically died and rejoined the band for "Californication" and "By the Way." Honestly, if mind blowing is what you are looking for, then the two cd's I mentioned are definitely mind blowing, both musically, and lyrically....Frusciante has some really deep lyrics about life/death/spirituality that are not the usual takes on the subject. I'm telling you, these 2 cd's are no joke...but they are more on the "rock" tip so I don't know if you meant "mind blowing" in terms of funk music/electronic/etc. or what.....Hope you dig some of the aforementioned cd's! Later.

BTW, you can listen to "The Mirror" by John Fruciante's album "The Will To Death" by going to this website: http://www.recordcollectionmusic.com/ You have to scroll through the songs on the jukebox located at the top of the site in order to hear it. It's a very cool and very deep song and it gives you a good idea of where this guy is coming from. You can also find out more at www.johnfrusciante.com

Here are the links to the cd's I mentioned:
