Sorry, I don't have it and never heard it. Where did you order it? I would like to hear more of his stuff but so much of it is out of print. I thought Rhino was going to reissue more of his albums?

The classics from Mayfield that u MUST have is "New World Order"(1996)..Curtis made that CD right before he died...he actually made it while lying down in a hospital bed...other classic albums from him are, of course, "Superfly" and U MUST get his solo debut from 1970, "CURTIS." Thats probably his BEST solo album...it has the MATERPEICES "The Makings Of You", "Move On Up", "We People Who Are Darker Than Blue" and "If There's A Hell Below." U MUST order the "CURTIS" album razz

Thanks for the link. All I have by Curtis is the Anthology 2 disc set (half Impressions/half Curtis solo) and Superfly. I do have Curtis, Curtis Live and Roots ordered. Are there any decent compilations of his solo work? Most of them seem to be very light on post 1972 material.

There was a boxed set Rhino did back in 1998 or 1999 called, The Curtis Mayfield Story. It was a 3-disc box set covering Mayfield whole career. This box set is really awesome. Rhino really knows how 2 make a comprehensive compilation!

Many fans myself included believe this just might be his greatest album so you couldn't have gone too wrong. It's his most emotional and inventive record if you ask me.

"Right On For The Darkness" is the shit! headbang (sampled for Mase's "Tell Me What You Want From Me.") I also love "Future Shock," but the album sounds as if it wasn't mixed or mastered properly...kind of fuzzy-like.
