Personally, I think my favorite R.Kelly album is R.

I love that album R. because:

- It has him do a lot of styles like hip-hop, rock, pop, opera, gospel, R&B/soul
- It shows his street and ego credibility and expands his crossover success
- And it has become his best-selling works

-It varys more than any of his albums
-And last but not least, the album artwork is flawless


Happy People/U Saved Me is good one, but it really has him focusing on two things: Happy People-being smooth and upbeat/ U Saved Me- being spritual (and religious) and proving that he's not an evil guy. In my opinion, he did just what Outkast did on their 2003 album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, just focusing on two different things and genres, to let people and fans alike have a favorite disc and see which one works out for them. Out of the two discs, Happy People is my favorite. That song, Love Street is my personal favorite. To me, Happy People/U Save Me expands more than Chocolate Factory. So, his 1998 album, R. is my favorite. With that album, he hit his artistic peak and that is his greatest album.. What do you think? Please post your opinions.

Now, don't get me wrong, 12 Play is a New Jack classic and has most of his popular songs of the 90's, but R. is where he really displays his talents, whether he does rock, pop, or R&B. The only 2 problems I had with R. is that it runs overlong and has filler, just like double albums usually do, but other than that it's a 5-star album with him crossing over more to pop. 12 Play is a classic, but if Kelly just didn't overdo himself on R., it would remain his best album ever.

R is number one on my "best albums of the 90's" list.

Kelly's music seems "dumbed down" in many ways....The standard for what is called "R&B" has fallen dramatically....Step In The Name Of Love and Happy People are the same damn song.....I liked Step In The Name Of Love when I first heard it and realized that he "borrowed" the groove form someone else.....The man's lyrics are elementary and he perpetuates the same bullshit that many so-called rappers do....The man is more conflicted than Michael Jackson at Disney Land (pun intended).

The japanese versions of his cds have this weird label on them? What does it mean?

Not being nasty, but "12 play" was not R kellys first album.....his debut was "Born into the 90's" under the title R kelly and Public announcement and came out in 1991! Of course is has that new jaack classic "She's got that vibe".....shame that R Kelly came in too late 4 the newjack game.....coulda given us more super tracks like that....but after this album he stopped on all his uptempo's which sucked 4 me.....

I like R. best....."If I could turn back the hands of time" means alot to me too.....as well as the fact that it has a fun vibe to it and all.....not too many slow jams but i do like some of his slowies though!

My favorite is R Kelly! Not Gonna Hold On, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Down Low and I Cant Sleep!
My 2nd choice is 12 Play! I really like Chocolate Factory too!
Born Into The 90's is good too! Honey Love and Slow Dance! Those songs used to be my jams way back!

"Happy People" is very good, but it's no "R". That remains his masterpiece - although the little we have of "Loveland" runs it pretty damn close.

I don't like the "U Saved Me" disc at all. It's shallow and smacks of insincerity, like something R Kelly's lawyer ordered him to make so he could sway the jury at his forthcoming trial for fucking and pissing on his 14 year old goddaughter.

I notice he thanks his boxing trainer in the credits. He's obviously getting ready to fend off the booty bandits in the pen.

The "Happy People" disc is like listening to "Step In The Name Of Love" the maxi single! There are like 4 songs that use the same basic format of "Step"...The man is out of ideas....R. Kelly is a great artist.....FOR ME TO POOP ON!!!!! I keed, I keed.....Seriously, I've had better results off of the steam from my crap....

What about the packaging 4 R. Kelly's R. That cardboard packaging is kind of tacky.
