Saw the New Lenny Video...finally Lenny looks great...thank God for the hair cut!!! "Storm - Remix" video
I wish Jay-z was in the video. It looks sorta corny with Lenny lip-synchin' jigga's part. I think its interesting that the first single release was more rock sounding and even the video...well...I hated that video and he did a turnabout with this single. This is definitely more R&bish..neo-soulish even. I actually would like to hear Maxwell sing this song more so than Lenny.

Lenny Kravitz is to Prince what the Beegees were to Led Zepplin.

I like this track. I was actually going to post about it posing the question of if this would be the direction for Prince to go IF he were trying to get the mainstream back. I love the strings in the song. They sound a little like something Clare Fischer would do. Lenny plays both sides of the fence, musically. He's been doing that for a few years now. Its actually a good example of an artist adjusting to fit the times without changing too much. Since R&B radio stations won't play anything with a distorted guitar on it anymore, he's been releasing his rock songs for his pop crowd and he'll drop a ballad on his R&B fan base. I guess Lenny is showing the future R&B artists with rock tendencies the formula for success. Keep the rockers happy, don't forget your blackground, do a duet with Puffy & Pharrell and throw in a Target or GAP commercial to keep your bank account looking right.

Why oh why is that man's hair such an issue? This coming from a brother who wears his hair long, but damn, why does it matter? SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Interesting is that when P cut his hair in 86, no one tripped. P grew it back out for Signs in 87 and kept it long for awhile I guess untill the 90's. My point being is P never got this kind of heat from folks cuz he would change his hairstyle. I wonder, why does Lenny? The man has the right just like P does. his hair was ugly....we liked the locs...the fro...but the perm was ugly.... it really doesn't matter...we are being women who like sexy black men... ...and obiviously it mattered to Lenny cuz that perm look didn't last too long....

Baiscally, I like any hair style he wears. With or without locks, he is still fine and sexy.

I haven't seen the new video yet but I saw a picture of him since he's cut his hair. I don't like it, he looks too "normal". My favorite hairstyle was the straight hair. I thought he looked his very best with that hairstyle. Andy is a four letter word.

MMMM
I keep thinking that first look/haircut was maybe a satire. I just hope, or otherwise he was temporary insane.

I haven't seen this video yet.
Storm is not one of my favorites from Baptism (because I actually prefer the rockers and find this utterly boring), but it's good that Lenny has another single out. I loved the first song and the video. Don't care too much for JayZ's contribution in Storm ("No, I'm not rappin' I'm just thinkin' real loud" ... "get your umbrellas ready it's raining macs and broads." LOL. So unnecessary). No harmony between Lenny and Jay there. Anyway, if Jay had been in the video, I think it would have made Lenny look too desperate to cross over ... like that disappointing song he did with pdiddy. Lenny looked out of place ... even if he did try to make the song's "naked" reference more profound by saying strip down to your soul...

I heard and saw the video, but I like the album version better. The Jus Blaze remix takes the funkiness out the track (for me).
I am also again disappointed that songs have to be remixed to get played on black radio. Why do programmers think we all need sh** remixed! It's sad, I feel companies thinks we're all the same and we only like one thing. I call it the malt liquor syndrome. "If you remix it, they'll buy it." Unfortunately, many of us do.
