This would be a difficult one for me. First of all, I think I would want to make this a 2-CD set. Second, I absolutely love Plantation Lullabies, so I would probably include at least seven songs from that album.
Psykosoul did not do a bad job for a single CD, though. My only wish is that her first single, "Dred Loc", be included as well if possible.

The entire Plantation Lullabies album (it flows way too seamlessly and is too important not to include the whole thing).
"Fool Of Me" "Faithful" "Satisfy" "Loyalty" "Wasted Time" "The Womb" "The Way" "Ecclesiastes: Free My Heart" "Leviticus: Faggot" "Mary Magdalene" "God Shiva" "Stay" "Bittersweet" "A Tear And A Smile" "Make Me Wanna Holler" "Poison Ivy" "Rush Over" "Nocturnal Sunshine" "The Teaching" "Hot Night" "Akel Dama (Field Of Blood)" "Earth" "Criterion" "Jabril" "Come Smoke My Herb" "Andromeda & The Milky Way" "Good Intentions" Sorry, Meshell is more important than a stingy single disc album can convey. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Cal, you didn't know Meshell has done a lot of soundtrack work? Heyylll yeah, she's all over the place with it. I haven't heard every song she contributed to soundtracks, but all that I have heard never disappointed me (except "Time Has Come Today" by the Chambers Bros.).
"Poison Ivy" is something she just completely reinvented. I don't have it anymore, but to me it's stellar. I just don't want to buy the Batman soundtrack for that one alone. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

White Man's Burden (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Thanks for the references I need to hear these again. Supernova said: Cal, you didn't know Meshell has done a lot of soundtrack work? I did but you know me... when I discovered it I went hunting around for them. I listened to some samples & wasn't impressed so I dismissed them. I shouldn't judge from a mere sample, MeShell never misses! But yea, I don't have any of her soundtrack work except for Love Jones. ITunes, here I come

I bought The Higher Learning Soundtrack specifically for her song Soul Searchin' (I Wanna
Know if it's Mine). I love this song!!!! She is sadly another slept on artist. Too bad the kids from this generation are subjected to crappy music and over-sampled beats that they think are original. Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight
Just let me rock you 'til the morning liiiiiiight It's cold outside And much too late to driiiiiiiive You know I need you baby I'm so lost without your love Mariah Carey - Stay The Night
