Madonna 'Re-Invention Tour' DVD and CBS TV special---let's sort out the rumors

I don't wanna get too excited about this news because nothing has been officially confirmed, but the following was posted by an "insider" on a Madonna fansite...

Hi,I just spoke with Orlando Puerta. He's Madonna's remix guy at Warners.I worked with him this weekend at the Sunset Junction Street Festival in Los Angeles. He confirmed that the DVD wll be a November release! It will be a 6-DVD set containing all the tours ("The Virgin Tour","The Who's That Girl Tour","The Blond Ambition Tour","The Girlie Show","The Drowned World Tour" and "The Re-invention Tour").There will also be an interactive disc! He said the artwork and title is not finished yet.Personally,I'm not too thrilled because I have them all except "Re-Invention",but it's better than nothing

But there are other more reliable sources who claim that Madonna's 'Re-Invention Tour' DVD won't be released until March 2005.It will use footage from the Lisbon show. The CBS concert special is set to air on November 25 (Thanksgiving night) at 9:00 PM.The official CBS website mentions the upcoming concert special, but they don't list a specifc date yet.A tour documentary is also being filmed, and the rumor is that it will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2005.

Meanwhile, some anxious fans are already creating their own artwork for the DVD...

6 discs! love

I don't think ANYONE has "The Virgin Tour" on DVD!

And I'm sure y'all want to replace that "Blond Ambition Tour" you have on Laserdisc. lol

Correct.'The Virgin Tour' has never appeared on DVD.And rumor has it that it will contain the 3 missing songs that don't appear on the VHS version...."Angel","Borderline" and "Burning Up".

Why the funny face? Re-invention, plus Virgin, Who's, and Blond Ambition on DVD make this box essential and not even a waste.

Also,it's possible that they will add new bonus features to each DVD.So even if you already have a few of these DVDs,the DVDs in the box set might include some new features. For example, the 'Drowned World Tour' DVD might include the rare performance of "You'll See" as a bonus feature. That song was only performed on a few of the early U.S. dates (it was later replaced by "Gone").

Rumors,rumors,rumors....I want an official announcement already!!! lol

oops, i didn't see that. My aunt has The "Who's that Girl" show on Laserdisc, but when she bought it she thought it was a live LP, cause they're like the same size, and she didn't even have a laserdisc player.

You know what,I never had the LaserDisc of 'Blonde Ambition' and i never had it on VHS either. The last time i saw that show was on May 19,1990---the actual concert that I attended! So I pretty much forgot what goes on during that show, lol. It'll be interesting to finally have a copy of it,on DVD,no less.

Yeah i know, that's why im debating whether i should buy the set or the single Re-invention DVD.

It would be nice if they released Blonde Ambition, and Virgin Tour Seperately.

By the way, what ever happened to Madonna's boxed set?

I want the others, too! I'll bet they won't be available separately (or at least one or two won't -why? because it makes Madonna's bank account balance grow faster).

From what i hear,it seems that Warners is anxious to release a multi-disc box set,but Madonna keeps postponing it.I'm afraid that we probably won't get a box set until after she leaves Warners.

Yes,she sold Maverick back to Warners and she has no association with that label anymore. She owes Warner Bros. two more albums, but rumors suggest that she could quickly fulfill her contract by delivering a "Live" album,a remix album and/or the box set.In which case, she would then be able to leave Warners by the end of this year.Sony and several other companies are anxious to sign her. When her tour ends in the middle of next month,I'm sure some major decisions will be made/negotiated regarding her career.
