madonna - justify my love

hey

This song just pops-up in my playlist so, since i'm bored right now, i thought i'd post somthing about it. I dunno about you guys but I especially liked madonna at this point in her carreer. I remember the video for this song causing a lot of controversy. This was sorta a turning point in her music, Erotica & bedtime stories were just around the corner. There was 'that' book... A lot of people have said this was the low-point in here career, but i actually concidder it the 'creative' peak...up till 'ray of light that is. Wish she stayed in this fase a bit longer.

btw: ever notice how prince's lyrics are much more explicit yet madonna's song are far more suggestive and far more controversial.
It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

Yeah this is where Madonna was apparently pushing the envelope too far. That video is the shit though, when she's with the girl on the bed and the man is watching, priceless. And then she moved into "Erotica" probably her most creative album and at her artistic peak.

And as for that book it sure sold well enough especially amongst horny men. My aunt has that book and everytime i look through it i think it was so lame and wondering why everyone was so offended.

I asked for this video to be played at this underage club...the ever famous NOW closed Medusas in Chicago sad and they did. Everyone booed and they loud speakered that they'd never play it again. boxed It WAS an alternative club/dance club. But they played stuff like erasure etc. Who knew?

I love that song though. beast within mix is hottttt!

This is my favorite Madonna era also. I loved it when Madonna was at her most controversial. Before this era, I could take her or leave her. I had a few of her 45s and that's all I cared to have. It started for me with "Vogue" and ended after "Erotica". "Erotica" is the only Madonna album I ever bought. Unlike most mainstream artists, Madonna had some good house music on that album. I wish she would have stayed in that phase for a long time.

my favorite madonna era was also this whole "sex freak" period. madonna was all about being provocative. sure, she was full of shit and just wanted to garner attention...you know what, though...it worked. everyone paid attention to her and everyone had an opinion. hell, i remember my born again brother flipping through the sex book just so he could say she was the epitome of evil. evillol good times, i tell ya!

i still love ol' girl and lord knows she was workin' my pussy at the reinvention show (from the pit, lest you forget). perhaps i'm just a bit nostalgic since i was just a teen when all that was going down...it all seemed so..."real".

its all good, though. i am so glad she is not 45 trying to flash her cooch all over the place. you've got to know when to move on and madonna has been, if nothing else, forever moving on.

But yeah,I agree with you guys, the whole 'Sex/Erotica' phase is my favorite Madonna era too.She was really pushing buttons, making a statement, and exploring every taboo about sex imaginable, lol. It was a thrilling time. Many people thought she was just being controversial for the sake of being controversial, but I think they totally missed the point. She was saying and doing things that women weren't expected to do,breaking down one barrier after another, and making people confront issues that they didn't necessarily want to deal with.

I love this track....Lenny Kravitz wrote and produced it specifically for Madonna...if you listen to the background vocals you can hear Lenny Kravitz.
