i like her first three or four albums a LOT - "rid of me" is a freakin' amazing album and "to bring you my love" is one of my absolute favorites, but i find that i don't have a lot of use for her more recent music, as much as i've tried to get into it. i'm in favor of her in general, though. i'm glad she exists, even if i don't dig what she's doing these days.

In terms of her more recent material, her new album doesn't really do it 4 me...
But 'Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea' is pretty damn excellent... .

To Bring You My Love is a masterpiece. I like her earlier work thru Is This Desire. I tried to get into "stories from the city..." but it never clicked for me. I haven't even picked up the latest yet.

Regardless I think she's immensely talented and should she ever come to town again I would def'ly check her out!

I haven't had time to listen to her new album yet, but "Good Fortune" is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Same here. I'm loving the new one.

I am absolutely obsessed with the woman. She rocks me like just about no one else can. I started out pretty early with her (Rid Of Me). She lost me somewhere around Dancehall and Is This Desire? But her last 2 efforts have me in full PJ effect again. I cannot wait til she comes around cuz I haven't seen her since '95. And her show with Tricky was still one of the best I've ever seen.

PJ Harvey #*#uckin' rocked san francisco last week. I had the fortune of seeing her in a 600 capacity venue at The Great American Music Hall & it was hands down the best show I've seen this year (sorry p), just electrifying. She was dressed in a yellow sheat w/ hot pink pumps. She opened with "The Whores Hustle and The Hustler's Whores", ripped thru "Dress" & "Victory" & "Dry", just killed "50ft Queenie" & "Me-Jane" & brought energy into "Down By The Water" shaking her morraca's & dancing in a sexy twirling motion. "Who The #*uck" from the new album was primal in all it's punk glory followed by a grinding "Meet Ze Monster" & deafening "Harder" which culminated with Harvey on her knees, howling. As if she hadn't already driven it home she then played one of my favorites when she layed out "Working For The Man". She brought passion & humor, everything you want in a live show & then some. Go check her out if the opportunity graces you. Farfunk
