John Mayer

Just heard from this singer for the first time (Launchcast radio yahoo) I heard this song called 'No such thing' from his album Inside wants out.
I loved it. Does anybody know him?

He's goodlooking too! love

i think he is amazing. Thought 'heavier things' was one of the best cd's in the past year, and his song clarity is already a classic in my opinion. He gets compared to dave matthews band way too much...there's something quite unique to his music. Definitly an option for the future. Music today could really use more people ike him.
It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

I am still recovering from John Mayer overload. He was "the next big thing" in the US last year. Deservedly so as he is a hell of a talent. But, he was so overplayed that by the end of the year I couldn't even listen to his music sad

If you ever hear of him touring around you, GO SEE HIM. He kills on the guitar and is just a natural on stage. I have seen him live 3 times and each show was just an improvement on the previous show.

And, yes, he is just too damn cute! smile

Thanks, I never heard of him before, but I'm glad to hear he's doing OK. I'll look forward to hear more from him.

I hope he's gonna play in Holland. I'd like to go hear and see him.

He's cute, but I hope his music is even better wink

Welcome to the real world
She said to me kind of condescendingly
Take a seat, take your life
Plot it out in black and white
Well I never lived the dreams of the prom kings
And the drama queens
I’d like to think the best of me
Is still hiding up my sleeve

They love to tell you stay inside the lines
But something’s better on the other side

I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the top of my lungs
I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world
Just a lie you’ve got to rise above.....

I love John Mayer...the moment I heard "No Such Thing" I ran out and bought his CD "Room For Squares"...another favorite is "Your Body Is A Wonderland"

He has since released two more CD's

Any Given Sunday (live album)

Heavier Things
Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight
Just let me rock you 'til the morning liiiiiiight
It's cold outside
And much too late to driiiiiiiive
You know I need you baby
I'm so lost without your love

My friend REALLY likes him...goes to all his shows...part of his fan club etc. I'm like "eh?" SHe put him on and he sounds like Dave Matthews Band with out the Dave. She doesn't hear it.

Not my cup of tea, but he plays his own stuff and he aint Britany.

John Mayer is probably the most underrated guitarist in pop music right now. He is far and above most of his contemporaries skillwise. He sings okay, but his playing is top notch. I just wish he would cut loose more often.

co-sign.

+ the fact he writes his own stuff, lyrics & music, in todays music-scene that's a big thumbs up. Especially so, conciddering the quality of his work.

EXACTLY!!!

John Mayer is a phenomenal song writer with self-confidence lacking in Matthews. I mean you'd never catch Mayer hiring someone to rethink one of his albums becuase he felt it wasn't commercially viable (like Matthews has been known to do).

He's refreshing.

He hasn't really been played that much in the UK either. Like aikam I got the album on the strength of "No Such Thing" which was on the London radio playlists for a while. I wasn't disappointed. It's a great album and "Neon" never fails to get me.

Haven't bought any of his other albums yet - are they worth it, people?
