I think people are listing their favorite musicians.

Not all musicians could sing a perfect acappella.

I just listed the voices that I like to hear most. They don't have to be perfect, but they move me in some way.

Well - just exchange George Michael with Prince and i am with you.
I loved the fact that you were able to put MichaelMcDonald on the list.
Well - to name only 8 singers is stupid anyway. There are thousands of great singers in the world. Make sure you get some really old Nat King Cole and Ray Charles records. I can smell you would love these, you probalby have them anyway. Favorite song by MichaelMcDonald: "You belong to me". Cheers.

Thank YOU! Julie Andrews has a wonderful voice, just because she's not famous for being a recording artist does not put means to exclude her from your lists.

Shame on you all!

Etta James

MEN: Older Vets

Marvin Gaye
Sammy Davis Jr.
Johnny Mathis

WOMEN: Current & Present Day

Lauryn Hill
Sade
Heather Headley

This is a great list so far, I only have two more to add.

Morten Harket - His A-ha songs don't do him any justice. Listen to his solo album "Wild Seed" to get the full effect of this mans amazing voice.

Billy Corgan - I may just be a fanboy but his voice is so unique that I couldn't help but fall in love with him.
