Bob Belden 'When Doves Cry The Music of Prince' Who has heard this album? Came out in '94 on Somethin' Else Records/Metro Blue label.
http://www.epinions.com/m...dditive_~1 It's one of the best compilation albums I've heard in dedication to Prince's music. Belden does a great job in allowing the artists to do the Prince songs they wanted to do in the way they wanted to do them. The Line Up is: 1. Diamonds and Pearls - Phil Perry & others. 2. Purple Rain - Holly Cole & others. 3. Kiss - Jimi Tunnell & others. 4. When Doves Cry - Cassandra Wilson & others. 5. Arms of Orion - Everette Harp & others. 6. Nothing Compares 2 U - Tsiidi Le Loka & others. 7. 1999 - Peter Berstein & others. 8. Little Red Corvette - Loris Diran & others. 9. The Question of U - Holly Cole, Paul Saxx, Jimi Tunnell 10.When 2 R N Love - Fareed Haque & others 11.Baby I'm A Star - Jimi Tunnell, Joey Calderazzo & others. Jazzy and cool! 'The Question of U' is incredible! peace!

I got that CD (It's Purple with a white feather on the front).
It's a good translation of his music, but not something U'd play over and over like a Prince CD. Xperience the Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com/

I've seen this cd before, and for the life of me I can't figure out why they'd want to re-interpret Arms of Orion. Aack! This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
