i'm so sick of replacing music!

my cd case was stolen from my gym. i wasn't too upset at first since most of it was mix discs but now that i realize just what, exactly, was in there i am so bummed! kyle's body language, madonna's remixed and revisited, erykah's worldwide underground, britney's in the zone, janet's damita jo...basically a fag's paradise! everything else was a mix disc but those were real, official cds. now, i'll be buying them all over again...ugh! i know i am not the only person who has to buy music several times...i mean, i think i bought janet. about three different times because i wore the tape out and left the cd at an ex's place. what cds/music have you found yourself replacing the most...outside of re-issues, that is.

Abour 4 years ago my apartnent was broken into. All that was stolen was CDs. Hundreds of them. It took me years to replace them, and many I've just never been able to find again.

other than that, however, My most replaced CD was "Dummy" by Portishead. I purchased that CD three times. One of the oddest things was, for a few years I rented a house with 5 people. Between the 5 of us, we had 3 copies of Portishead. As we prepped to move out, we discovered all of us had our case for the CD, but NO ONE had a CD left. So I repurchased it for the 3rd time. Then, it was stolen in the mass theft. I gave up and decided I wasn't meant to own that CD. It's a shame too cos I really loved that CD.

Sorry bout yer theft, Sassy. That sucks. Even having the mixes stolen. I know they can be remade but still you had put time and energy into them.

I had a bunch of stuff stolen at the gym a while back, too. I vowed never to bring official discs out with me, anymore. I use an mp3 player now, but for a while I just burned CD-R copies of discs I owned.

It's one of my biggest fears... I could never replace my entire 1000+ CD collection.

Especially all the rare Prince stuff like promos, special gatefold and digipack releases, or vinyl.

Scary!
