I just bought Parliament's Tear Off The Roof compilation today, and i've listened to about 10 songs on there and overall it sounds good. I just wanted to know what you think of it because I think it's the ultimate Parliament collection. Please post ur opinions. Check me out and add me on:

I just got this so I can complete my P-funk collection without gettung each one of their albums. It's far more better than any other Parliament collection, especially that one they released in 2002 called Funked Up: The Very Best Of Parliament. I almost got that one, but I said 2 myself be a more smarter guy, buy the anthology, Tear The Roof Off!!! Plus, I can finally hear the "12 single mix of Auqa Boogie... Check me out and add me on:

As a casual fan, I had read/heard that Motor Booty Affair and Mothership Connection were their best. But you might still enjoy more of their albums.
This one is my favorite: Aha! Can't stop buying with that compilation! March on, funky consumer!

This collection is drawn from the WESTBOUND years when the guitar army rocked the funk really hard. My specific problem with latter-day Parliament (post-MBA) is the tendency towards disco. test

I remember that album that they released in 1972 at the Westbound label called America Eats Its Young. That one was amazing. Check me out and add me on:

Most of the Parliament lps are concept lps. To truly understand and appreciate what's going on try to find the lps. Start with Up For the Down Stroke and work your way up. Osmium the first lp is good also. Sounds more like Funkadelic though.

I have that compilation.Bought it in 1993 when it came out. It's probably the best Parliament compilation you will find, containing all the big hits, key album tracks and thankfully, most songs are in their full-length versions (you gotta have the 10-minute version of "Flashlight").But I wonder when they're gonna do a Funkadelic 2-CD compilation? Or has such a set already been released?

That cardboard packaging is kinda cheap though, and why did they put this white cardboard square in the packaging? Overall, it looks pretty nice. Check me out and add me on:
