I think we need to define exactly what the word "artist" really means.If a person writes songs,is that person an "artist"? If a person sings,is that person an "artist"? If a person performs on-stage,is that person an "artist"? Of course,there will always be debates/disagreements about how well the person does these things (it's simply a matter of opinion),but I consider many of the names on these lists to be "artists".Granted,some of these folks might not be creating the type of "art" that I like (Alanis Morrisette,for example),but they're still artists,nonetheless. | |
