Alyson Williams appreciation thread....... Anyone familiar with this powerhouse vocalist? released her self titled debut in 89 "Raw" on Def Jam,which yielded the slow jam "Just Call My Name" and "My Love is Raw" and the duet with Oran Juice Jones "How To Love Aagin". Followed in 92 with her self titled set featuring the slow jam "Just my Luck"....after a lengthy hiatus she is finally back with "It's About Time" with the lead off single "Soft and warm" I feel she is very underrated,and never gained her much deseved props..... I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.

Her vocals are tight. Recently, I saw her on BET Jazz sounding good. It's good that she is back recording. | |

I remember her 1989 song "I Need Your Lovin",which is a nice midtempo groove.She's a good vocalist who never really had a massive hit single. | |
