Mr Pitiful, yes great song! Otis was so unique... sadly missed... and at least one BestOf album or sumthing should be found in ANY record collection, no matter what your musical taste is otherwise Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

OMG! I was justing wondering why I never see an Otis thread! You just can't go wrong with any on his cuts. I really love "Tramp." Does Carla Thomas dis him or what? But, then homey comes back and breaks it down! I got six Cadillacs, five Lincolns, four Fords.... I just love it! My mom was supposed to see him perform, but then his plane went down. (I've actually seen the picture of his bloated body being pulled out of the water.) I think he was 26 when he died. What a loss.

yes, it's truly sad he had such a big impact in such a short life span.. just imagine if that plane didn't crash... what he could have achieved.. what even bigger star he could have been... how many great Otis records we would have today Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. My parents were fans of his and had tickets to see him in concert. Unfortunately, he passed from the plane crash before they got to see him. There hasn't been any talents to match him and there probably never will be. "Try a little tenderness"

Others: These Arms Of Mine That's How Strong My Love Is I've Been Loving You Too Long Shake Respect Cigarettes And Coffee Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa Hard To Handle I've Got Dreams To Remember Even his Beatles and Stones covers were cool...different but cool. Otis had a version of JB's "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag," that dare I say gave the original a run for its money. Yes, I dare say. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Also, we used to have a bunch of the songs you listed on 8-track. I'll never forget how just when "Shake" was getting good the tape would stop, abruptly. We'd have to put in Vol. 2 of the 8-track and it would continue where it left off! OMG! What an Otis memory right there! [This message was edited Fri Aug 20 17:00:25 2004 by UptownDeb]

8-track huh. You're lucky you got through the whole tape without it jamming. Have you ever opened one of those things? tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

That's more Truth than Dare. He even got more notes from the word drag than JB did. Ain't no dra-a-a-a-a-a-ag tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I LOVE THIS SONG! Well, any Otis for that matter. And about his version of "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag", I like his version better as well. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven
