Boz Scaggs Jammin' right now to "Lowdown"
This song always reminds me of my dad because he had his Silk Degrees album back in the day. [This message was edited Sat Aug 21 11:04:19 2004 by minneapolisgenius] "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

Gotta love Steve Gadd's drum intro. Sweeeet! This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Ooooh you're right. Heads again. Gadd was god on drums. During the CTI sessions period he had a distinctive snare sound that I loved. a few notables... Check out his album "Dig", very good, on par with lowdown and silk degrees in my opinion.
Saw him live in Amsterdam last year and guess who was on keys.....Ricky Peterson! Great live as well.

No way - Ricky Peterson plays keys for Boz Scaggs? Who woulda thunk it? [This message was edited Sat Aug 21 18:44:37 2004 by psychodelicide] RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I've never heard an album with him on drums where I wasn't impressed with his playing. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Boz Scaggs just released a 2-CD Live set,and a Live DVD as well.In 2001,he released a briilliant CD called 'Dig'.It's his best album since 'Silk Degrees'
Speaking of 'Silk Degrees'....that CD really, really needs to be remastered.

I agree.'Dig' is a VERY good album, easily his strongest work since 'Silk Degrees'.One track in particular---"Miss Riddle"----has quickly become my favorite Boz Scaggs song.

Yeah, "Lowdown" is very, very funky. The bassline and the guitar parts throughout the song, especially towards the end, the interplay is very cool. Always dug that song. Bozz did double duty with "Lowdown" getting airplay on black stations and then getting airplay with his other hit "Lido" which I also dig. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Yeah,'Silk Degrees' was a hit-fiiled album.... "It's Over" "Lowdown" "Lido Shuffle" "We're All Alone" I'm not sure, but I think that the opening track "What Can I Do" was also released as a single.I seem to remember hearing it on the radio back in 76/77.This is one album that needs to be remastered asap.

I agree. This is a prime example of how a lot of albums were made in the 70's. Good, solid hit material that was a natural crossover. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz.
