Mr Pitiful, yes great song! Otis was so unique... sadly missed... and at least one BestOf album or sumthing should be found in ANY record collection, no matter what your musical taste is otherwise Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

OMG! I was justing wondering why I never see an Otis thread! You just can't go wrong with any on his cuts. I really love "Tramp." Does Carla Thomas dis him or what? But, then homey comes back and breaks it down! I got six Cadillacs, five Lincolns, four Fords.... I just love it! My mom was supposed to see him perform, but then his plane went down.

yes, it's truly sad He definitely was a hell of a vocalist. My parents were fans of his and had tickets to see him in concert. Unfortunately, he passed from the plane crash before they got to see him. There hasn't been any talents to match him and there probably never will be.

Otis had a version of JB's "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag," that dare I say gave the original a run for its money. Yes, I dare say. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Also, we used to have a bunch of the songs you listed on 8-track. [This message was edited Fri Aug 20 17:00:25 2004 by UptownDeb]

8-track huh. You're lucky you got through the whole tape without it jamming. Have you ever opened one of those things? tA Tribal Disorder

I LOVE THIS SONG! Well, any Otis for that matter. And about his version of "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag", I like his version better as well. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven
