The last Prince album I bought was SOTT. I'm not quite familiar with stuff after it. (Is this grounds for being banned from the Org?)

Over time, I've learned not to be embarrassed by any of my musical taste or purchases. I feel like I'm on my own little time line and in my own little world when it comes to music. I usually am totally immersed in one artist at a time and as long as that takes to play out, I'm usually satisfied. So if that means that I really only listen to 5 artists in a year, I'm okay with that. Of course, I'm open to suggestion from people whose taste I trust, but for the most part, I chart my own course.

My second favourite era/genre of music is British punk/new wave (sixties British invasion comes first), but I've managed to live my entire life without ever hearing Warm Leatherette by The Normal.

I actually just filled one of the gaps in my musical knowledge - I picked up Joni Mitchell's Hejira a few weeks back. I haven't really digested the album in full yet, but I expected this one to be a grower.

I, uhh, am dumbfounded because I think you would really like this album (and probably more than the others you listed). I liked your top 20 list, and Go-Go's was in mine.

The only Beatles album I have ever heard is Beatles For Sale

I've never heard a whole Madonna album. Never did dig her growing up.

Pet Sounds

Read about it, seen docu about it and heard many songs on the radio. It interests me but
I never get round to buying it.

Songs In The Key Of Life

I've always been torn about wether to buy this or not. I read many good things about it on
the org. Somehow I'm affraid that it will be a huge let down.

Sgt Pepper's

I'm still high on Revolver after all these years. I bought several other Beatles albums and
enjoy all of them. Yet, Sgt Pepper is the one I always put back into the stack at the shop
in favor of another album.

Astral Weeks

Never been much of a Morrison fan but hearing and reading about this album always kept
my interest burning. Once again, I always forget about it once I enter a cd store and seem
to remember it only after I bought some crap album.

For some reason I just never got round to buying them. I know occasional songs from
both of them but never heard the entire thing.

Yeah, I heard Sgt. Pepper before any other Beatles album, so I think if it were the other way around, it would have been sort of a let down for me because Sgt. Pepper is not my favorite album by them.

Shocked...but nothing to be embarassed about...Stand Proud!

I feel like I'm advantaged though, not having heard all of Maddie's stuff...kinda like those surface-level Prince fans who have only heard the 1999 and PR albums and still think everything he's ever put out has been fantastic. I've heard her hits, so she's still a legend (to me). I think if I heard everything she's ever put out, the mystery of her fame and greatness would be shattered and I'd have to face a harsh, harsh reality.

I've never listened to most 'legendary' albums. I'm a greatest hits addict. I rarely buy a CD that isn't a greatest hits compilation.

Let me jump in here head first;

Any and all Beatles
With the exception of Physical Graffiti, any and all Led Zeppelin
Most of Marvin Gaye's early work, pre What's going On
I've heard a lot of Jimi Hendrix's work, Band of Gypsys, the Experience, King Curtis etc... but I don't have any of his albums. But fear not, they aren't going anywhere so I'll have time to buy.
I saw the Stones in concert ( Voodoo Lounge, Steel Wheels ) but have nothing of theirs in my collection.

There's plenty of stuff I haven't heard, but my life is only a vapor here on earth, so I pick & choose wisely what I want to listen to.

Well, heh. Being an industrial music buffoon that really isn't a big deal. My tastes go way more obscure than Coil to be honest. Click my profile.

Now aren't you really impressed now? wink

Saw Coil live two years ago. Unfortunately the only thing I could remember from the gig was thisgoth chick I tried to pick up on. And I didn't even score. (how bad is that - you don't even get laid with a goth? And miss COIL for that! Jesus.)

In the context of the industrial/electronic underground, I suppose Coil practically qualify as superstars.

...and please, don't even mention goth chicks to me, because once I start writing about my sad, pathetic obsession with goths I'll never be able to stop. I'm a complete pushover for any woman with black hair and a snot-ring.

I think I'll stick with goth chicks from now on too. Less trouble than "normal" women. Make you look less troubled yourself as well.
