I wish I could find the "single version" of this song,which is also the version that was used in the video.I have her 1987 album 'Everlasting' ,but the album version sounds flat and boring.When they released it as a single,they remixed it and it sounds 100% more lively.But that version is extremely hard to find! That's until he does the last chorus right before the bridge, "You know this much is...TRUE" It's said in a really phoney half spoken/half sung overly emotive, overly dramatic way. I can see him doing this with a hand in the air, looking blankly skyward as if he's seeing himself delivering a line from Hamlet's Soliloquy. So I give them a second chance with Gold. I didn't even make it to "You're indestructabbllllleeeee". When that 1st creepy background of "Goooold" happens that did it. It sounds like they hired the "Men On Film" for that part. 
All that's missing is the "2 snaps up" arm flourish. Double Yuck. (NWF is gonna freak when he reads this)

"Missing You" by John Waite (1984) ---the 80s was filled with songs like these....catchy yet totally predictable midtempo rock tracks with nothing interesting going on at all. "Rumours" by Timex Social Club (1986) aw hell. our music tastes are completely different, at least according to 80's choices. i loved all three of these songs. and actually "Missing You" was my 2nd fave 80's song closely following P's "When Doves Cry" lemme guess...you hate Howard Jones too?  you're only as old as you feel..............so how old do i feel
