To each their own, but I quite like both of those songs, thank you very much...

Madness were a phenomenal band - their debut album is as enjoyable an album as you could ever hope to hear - and the first two Dexy's albums are chock-full of quality songs.

I agree. Both bands are great, and I don't see how anyone could not like the heavy, heavy, heavy monster sound. The nastiest sound around! wink

I also agree. Madness is great. Although I don't know any of Dexy's Midnight Runners other songs, I always liked Come on Eileen.

But I just saw this HORRID video....someone named Feargul Sharkey or something?? I don't know if that's a band or a person, but it doesn't even matter. shake
[This message was edited Thu Aug 19 6:09:24 2004 by minneapolisgenius]

You must be thinking of "A Good Heart" by Feargal Sharkey - you're right, that is a dreadful song...

BUT - Feargal Sharkey (before the Eurythmics Dave Stewart got a hold of him) was the lead singer of the band who produced the greatest pop-punk album of all time: the Undertones self-titled debut album. Words cannot do this album justice. Teenage Kicks is John Peels favourite song of all time, and with good reason - I think it's the most perfect two minutes and twenty five seconds of music ever made.

Feargal went on to have a terrible and mercifully brief solo career - the rest of the band went on to form That Petrol Emotion, who released two great Captain Beefheart-style modern rock records in the mid-eighties, but kind of tailed off after that...

Sorry for going off on a tangent...

Yes, that's who I'm talking about. And thanks for all the info I never thought I'd need. lol All I know is that it is a horrible song with an equally horrible video.

"Unskinny Bop" by Poison. Possibly the DUMBEST song ever written. What the hell is "unskinny" anyway?? Is he saying he's into sex with fat girls? Fine dude, whatever floats your boat, but don't write a piece of shit like this one.

For that matter, most of the Poison catalogue should be included.

Good call! thumbs up! I was watching VH1 and they did this countdown of bad songs. They listed "She Bang!" and someone pointed out the it was a lame attempt to coin a catch phrase. I'm wondering if Poison was trying to do the same thing. That title is straight-up corny. I'm not questioning the "unskinny" part. I don't know what the "bop" is all about. Hanson's guilty of using it too. ("Mmm Bop") WTF???

tA, good call on "Ebony & Ivory." That song just plain sux!

As I explained to flipwilson, many pop songs become disliked just because of being over played.
