If there's one thing I love the most about Bjork's work it is her lyrics. They are poetic, full of substance and she has a style all of her own. She manages to depict some of the most intimate moments of the human experience in a way that isn't trite or cliche. 
Don't get me wrong, I really hate it when fans of terrible bands like Radiohead and Godspeed You Black Emperor tell me that I "don't understand", like there's some layer to their pretentious, meaningless garbage I'm missing out on. I can understand why you wouldn't like Bjork, for much the same reasons I can understand why you wouldn't like one of my other idols, Yoko Ono. And that's fair enough. But one thing she has never been is pretentious. She is always intimate and sometimes surreal, but never pretentious. you hate radiohead, but like yoko? she sucks shit through a straw. oh, and her music is the most pretentious BULLSHIT ive ever heard. I like Yoko Ono's music. It's quite diverse, experimental and fun. In fact my main problem with Bjork is that it all sounds like the same old shit recycled again and again and again. The lyrics read like poetry that an adolescent would write in high school. They are very over-reaching and embarrassing. figures you would like yoko.  In my own way, I am the king.
