Queen Latifah - It's Alright I love this song. She teamed up with Faith Evans for this one. From the "Nothing To Lose" SDTK back in '98. Also on Latifah's studio LP "Order In The Court" (does anyone have that album?) Still garners repeat spins from me to this day. Excellent track. Latifah never sounded better. The backtrack is so great. The perfect end-of-summer song.

Yeah, I've always liked that song. Don't know if it's different or not, but I own the version from the Nothing To Loose Soundtrack. OutKast's "Everlasting" was my shit, too!

Glad to see there are folks in here who know this song. I thought this was gonna be another one of those "0" threads. LOL.

Yes I love when Queen La sings....the Soundtrack version has Faith Evans and the album version has Lil'Mo on Background vocals love them both....this song samples Alicia Meyers "I wanna thank you(Heavenly father)" I love La as an MC but would really love to hear her do like a smooth jazz album her voice has a soothing tone to it. I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

I heard earlier this year that she was going to make two separate albums: one jazz, one hip hop. Don't know if that fell through or not.

My FAVE song from the album "Court Now In Session" or whateva the title. I used to blast that song like crazy!
BTW it was Lil'Mo who sand the background but Faith was the one who pinned the hook. Dana Owens sounded cool too

"It's Alright" is one of the rare songs where I like both the album version ("Order In The Court" LP) and the alternate version ("Nothing To Lose" SDTK) -- Faith sings on the latter. I remember this song used to win all those "Battle of the Beats" competitions on the old 92.3 The Beat in Los Angeles. And is it me, or is Faith Evans and underrated songwriter? Her tone has a colorful texture but her material are distracting her voice. If she could do a Jazz/Gospel record like Aretha did back in the early 90's when she was with Columbia, it would showcase her chops. She covered "Skylark" in some show back in 1999, tears were rolling down my cheeks when she finished the pre4mance. I'm SOOO glad that she deserted that P.Diddy raggedy ass camp, hope Capitol records do her justice.
