Talking Heads Fans: Get Thee To The Wrecka Stow NOW!!!

The holy grail of unreleased Talking Heads material FINALLY came out August 17:

THE NAME OF THIS BAND IS TALKING HEADS

bow bow bow bow bow bow bow

Live stuff from the early days, when they were at their leanest and funkiest....

A two CD set with extra songs added to the original tracklisting, and an entire second disc of live Heads stuff that's never been released! drool

Got it today. Great stuff. Looking forward to next year's remastered albums.

I'm listening to this sucker right now...I'm starting off with Disc 2, which is an entire show from the "Remain in Light" tour. This sounds PHENOMENAL. Maybe it's just because these live arrangements are new to my ears, but I'd venture to say this is a better live album than "Stop Making Sense"....and I LOVE me some "Stop Making Sense". nod

I'm happy as can be right now...dancing jig

....oh, and uh, OH YEAH:

The versions of "Crosseyed and Painless" and "Life During Wartime" have got to be two of the most funky recordings I've ever heard from Talking Heads, if indeed by ANYone. eek

Mmmmm...tasty treat this one is! I've only listened to portions of it (in the car, on the way back from the sto' on my lunch break and at my desk) and it's goooood! I'm saving disc 2 for the home stereo so I can fully enjoy the 10 member setup! This is an excellent release.

Disc One is really, really great - I listened to it after Disc Two and I was really impressed by how much better it was than I thought it would be - but Disc Two is just a jawdropper. I'm seriously freaking out over how damn good this stuff is. nuts

Please tell me more. All I have is their 2 disc best of but keep on almost buying their new box set. But if I'm gonna do that, I might as well just buy the albums. What do you know about these remasters?
