I'm hooked on the Pet Shop Boys. I just bought their "PopArt" video collection (which actually cost less than the album) and will be picking up the double CD later this week. I keep listening to "Miracles" on the internet and it's amazing. The best dance music artists ever becuase they aren't afraid of different styles.

I got The Cure's self titled album last week, and to be honest it isn't what I was hoping for. Most of the songs aren't particularly strong or memorable.

Columbia seems like the it was the place to be. Around the same time period you have Miles,Santana, Hancock all doing some progressive, spiritual things with the music with the backing of their label.
