Santana Tribute... Dave Matthews and Black Eyed Peas will be among the many musicians gathering to perform in honor of Carlos Santana, who was named the Latin Recording Academy's Person of the Year. George Lopez and Cheech Marin will co-host a tribute, which will honor Santana's social activism and cultural accomplishments as well as his music, Aug. 30 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. Café Quijano, Fher of Maná, La Ley, Ozomatli, Robi Rosa, Rob Thomas and Julieta Venegas also will perform, along with a set by Santana himself.

So wish I could be there. I think this is great. After Hendrix, Santana has influenced me the most as a guitarist. I have every single one of his albums, cds. Carlos has been in the game forever and has stayed true to himself as an artist. He deserves it. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Carlos is one the the true greats in the music business. I love him and his work. Good for him that he's being honored. He deserves it. | |
