I am watching it right now for the third time and I think it's one of Madonna's better acting jobs. I don't understnad why it got panned...b/c Guy wanted to use his wife?!! Insanity.

At least we get to see Madonna nekkid.

Swept Away according to Ebert it was god awful.....but what does he know. I like a lot of movies that get horrible ratings by professional critics....but I like cheesy movies,so that's bound to happen.

No, it's not a good movie. It's a terrible one, and an awful remake. On the other hand, Swept Away by Diana Ross is a good track with a cheesy video to accompany it.

I didnt' think it was sooo bad either.. The end was sad a bit.. But .. i can admit, Madonna was far from great.. but she wasnt' as bad as they portrayed.. it was the whole movie storyline just sucked.. I loved it when she kept calling him Pee Pee...

i liked this movie. it got bad reviews before it was even out which should tell you that there was a bias. i'm not suggesting madonna is a terribly talented actress because, well, we've all seen body of evidence, the next best thing, shanghai surprise, dangerous game, and who's that girl.

a league of their own, desperately seeking susan, dick tracy, evita, and swept away are all enjoyable movies with decent performances. not too mention her cameos in 4 rooms and girl 6 were classic! perhaps she's at her best when she doesn't have huge roles since she was also pretty good in bloodhounds of broadway and woody allen's shadows and fog. was she also in blue in the face or smoke? i thought she was in one of them...and if i'm thinking of the right movie, she wasn't bad in that one either.

anyway, i digress...

swept away was a fun movie that got bashed far more than it deserved.

I saw her in that play 'Up For Grabs', in the West-End a couple of years ago.

She wasn't terrible but you knew it was Madonna all the time.

There was one line, where she had to say: "I'm not that materialistic". Well, she turned to the audience and gave this knowing glance at us all. The audience burst out laughing. It's like she realised that we were there to see Madonna - not to see Madonna act - and had given up any pretense of performance.

I felt sorry for the other actors - they were basically just walking props.

It was pretty fab though! She was in spitting distance. LOL

That play was crap... But her tits looked great...I dropped my wine glass
during her monologue and she kinda sneered in my direction...
