I found a rare Michael J & Freddy Mercury cut from 1984?? State O Shock?

I wa on kazaa, and supposeldy i was lookin for any rare Michael Jackson videos, and State Of Shock was on there...

When it loaded it was one of those Windows Media video stream fakes..BUT State of Shock was in an early demo sounding form...which was EVEN BETTER! I found another rare MJ bootleg...

And the file said that it was michael Jackson & Freddy Mercury instead of Mick Jagger...is this correct?

I'm not 100% sure, since I haven't heard it. BUT, I do remember Michael saying that he wanted to do a duet with Mercury because he was a big fan, and I THINK the song was "State Of Shock"...whether they ever did any demos for anything, I don't know.

omg Only State of Shock I ever knew of was with Mick Jagger. If there is one with Freddie I'd love to hear it. You're gonna have to share, man! wink

yes there's an unreleased duet between freddie and mike. but freddie changed his mind at the last min, so mick jagger appears on the state of shock.

this info comes from my hardcore freddie fan mate.

The file is incorrect. State of Shock was a duet with Jackson and Jagger.

This is according to the webpage listed beneath the quote:

"Michael Jackson released a single called 'State Of Shock' with Mick Jagger. Before this was released Michael Jackson worked on this single with Freddie Mercury but never got time to finish it. The two artists also worked on two more songs 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' and 'Victory' but again never finished them."
http://www.nicholasjdanto...risons.htm

When this record (Jackson/Jagger) was released, a radio station here in L.A. had a promotion going where they played that tune and only that tune non-stop. Exactly how many hours I don't recall as i've tried to blot out the horror of that memory.

Needless to say it rose to the top of my 10 Most Hated Songs Of The Day list. mad

This is the demo which DOES feature Freddie. I've had it a couple of years and cleaned it up somewhat. I like Mike's version of 'There Must Be More To Life Than This' too. 'Victory' is not circulating.

A few years ago the remaining members of Queen were looking to release a full ALBUMS worth of stuff they did with MJ back in the 80's. So far, for some reason or other MJ isn't playing ball.

It is NOT incorrect, there really is a State of shock with MJ and Freddie!! I do have it too, and it sure is better than the one with Mick Jagger!!!

those cuts just give me chills.

Im still gettin in2 "Be Not Always" because in a Michael Jackson book he demanded he wanted a song where he would be crying on it...

Ha, I like 'Wait' a lot, but 'Body' is IMO the worst ever Jacksons song outside of the pish on 2300 Jackson Street.

I love "Wait" too, love the sci fi like production (much like whole album).....Jackie sounds good on it too.....guitar solo rocks bigtim and then u hear Michael on the adlibs.sheer class!

"Torture" is cool too and actually I like "Body", even though it is one of the goofyiest tracks ever! Plus the chorus is ripped from Jacko's "wanna be startin' something".....

"Hurt" is ruined by Randy's annoying falsetto but I love "one more chance".very sad song 4 me!

3 songs recorded 2gether as demos in LA in '83.

THAT'S IT.

Queen productions approached MJJ productions in 2000 with the intention of releasing a complete box set of rare stuff that includes demos, outtakes, live cuts etc etc, and wanted 2 include the demos Freddie and MJ recorded back in the day - but MJ didn't wanna play ball at the time. The set is still being compiled by Queen's official archivist Greg Brooks, who told me that they are all still hopeful that material may still be included. No release date set.

Brian & Roger are currently in the studio constructing backing for 3 new vocal tracks left by Freddie.

Contrary 2 rumour, there is VERY little 'new' material in the royal vault.

Those that know me well, will know 4 various reasons I ain't Bullshittin' ...

Don't make me wet like that. New Queen? When were these boacls laid down? I loved his voice on Innuendo and the new tracks on Made in heaven. He could've sung the phone book and I'll dig it. Don't believe me, listen to "A WInters tale" On the topic of the post, I got State of shock and Mor ethan life than this off of Michael Jacksons official (??? don't really remember) site like 2 yrs ago. Someone posted the link on the audiogalaxy Queen board. Ithe downloads were only posted for like 48 hours and taken down.

I remember that. If I recall, it was 12 hrs. I thought that was weird, a station doing that. I liked the song though, still do. I like Freddie, but I don't think it would have been as good as Mick was with Michael. Freddie might not have done the song because he had already done a duet with Bowie on the great song "Under Pressure" in 81.

I'm far from slow and like Bootsy say's "I may be slow, but I'm quicker than you." I wasn't speaking about Freddie and MJ cutting the song, I was speaking about their version not being released. No harm done, I don't think.
