That's how I like him. Yeah, he was always really thin, but around '77, that was when he was basically subsisting on a steady diet of banana daquiris and heroin. This is from the '77 U.S. tour... It doesn't even look like him anymore. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

To this day, I love LED ZEPPELIN!!!! Their DVD from last year, How the West Was Won, was greater than all the modern mush that's out their today. That band totally rocked all the way live!!!! For an entire weekend I was home listening to a radio station play Led Zeppelin from A to Z and I was in total nirvana!!!! I will turn from any music to listen to their music anytime, anyplace!!! I was too young when they hit the concert circuit, but I connected with their music immediately. All four are and were mad geniuses. Every song was different yet still the Led Zeppelin sound. There are many artists who are heavily influenced by their sounds today. Lennytunia

Yes, they were amazing. Do you mean the 3 CD set? Because the DVD wasn't called "How the West Was Won". That was the CD set that was released last year as well. Anyway, the DVD is phenomenal. My favorite section of it is the Madison Square Garden '73 footage. This seems to be their peak, as far as their live performances go. Of course, Earls Court ('75) is also amazing (just watch "In My Time of Dying" and try not to fall out of your chair ) It's also cool how they have really early footage as well. You can really see how they blossomed as a band. If anyone doesn't have this DVD, GO GET IT NOW!!! Lori, Baby or whatever your name is, I hope to meet a woman with such good taste in music (and has the library of pictures to prove it). Zeppelin is something I never get tired of but there's so much other music that I keep learning about. That dvd is amazing because the film couldn't keep up with the man (Bonham).

Oh I have thousands of pics, that's for sure but I couldn't possibly post them all here. They'd probably kick me off the org. I have to watch the DVD a lot just so I can catch them all in action (I have to tear my eyes off Jimmy to do that though, which is a major feat in itself). Bonzo is phenomenal, as is John Paul Jones who sadly always gets the shaft out of the four of them. At least, that's how I rationalize watching it so much. You all rock with all the pics and quotes.
Bonham is the best rock drummer ever...yes, even better than Keith Moon. His power is the driving force behind the band. Pagey is the best rock guitar player ever (well next to Hendrix, Claption, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Eddie Van Halen). In My Time of Dying (studio or live) is the peak for me when it comes his best moment on record. Jonesy is the most underrated musician in rock imo. His contributions to Zeps sound are essential to its legacy. Trampled Under Foot....nuff said. Plants voice will be immitated endlessly by every garage hard rock band out there. He defined heavy metal singing (the 80s hair bands ALL immitated the guy).

I don't even remember who started this thread originally, but I seem to have taken it over for myself. I bascally watch "In My Time of Dying" (Earl's Court) from the DVD with my jaw on the floor.
