Anxiety

Kinda disappointing, considering he was going to start his own independent label...but Dayvid's a smart old geezer - he wouldn't make this decision if it weren't going to be to the benefit of his fans and himself. His next album "Heathen" should be an interesting ride...hopefully better than his last album, hopefully as good as "Earthling" and "1. Outside". LOVE that voice...!

If you read the press release from Columbia they talk about Bowie reteaming with Tony Visconti - a producer from Bowies golden age, and a return to form without looking backwards. Reminds me of the spin Clive Davis was putting out for RAVE.
Every cd is full of pop hits & will be a huge worldwide hit.
We shall see.
His last cd even the remixes were blah.

Rod Stewart signed with Clive Davis' label (J Records) and has a new "concept album" due in October.

Batdance

When the announcement was made that Bowie was starting his own label, there were whispers that the only reason he was doing it was because he was being dropped by his major label.

The announcement about him starting his own company was sort of a face saving gesture to let Bowie leave with dignity instead of kicking him to the curb the way Van Halen was by their record company.

Yeah , I did. I especially liked "Prisoner ol love"and "I can't read" of the first TM album. It sounded to me like he was trying to sound like the Pixies, except with a more industrial sound. In some respects it was "grunge avant la lettre". But definitely interesting stuff.

Me too. I didn't like the first tin machine album but the 2nd one contains some great stuff.
