70s pop/rock classic of the day: "I'm So Afraid" by Fleetwood Mac (1975)

Tell the truth...has Fleetwood Mac ever recorded a song as hauntingly beautiful and intoxicating as "I'm So Afraid"? Lindsey Buckingham's falsetto on this track is just amazing, and the guitar on this song just mesmerizes the listener. The melody is gorgeous. If I wanted to turn somebody into a Fleetwood Mac fan,I would play this song for them.Whenever I listen to the self-titled album from 1975 (which is quite often),I always play this song over and over and over and over...lol...I just totally get lost in this song.Am I the only one?

"I'm So Afraid" music

wriiten by Lindsey Buckingham

I been alone
All the years
So many ways to count the tears
I never change
I never will
I'm so afraid the way I feel

Days when the rain and the sun are gone
Black as night
Agony's torn at my heart too long
So afraid
Slip and i fall and i die

I been alone
Always down
No one cared to stay around
I never change
I never will
I'm so afraid the way I feel

Days when the rain and the sun are gone
Black as night
Agony's torn at my heart too long
So afraid
Slip and i fall and I die

lol btw,i think this is my third Fleetwood Mac thread in the last few months? LOL

just the fact that you used a FM song as your song pick of the day just MADE MY MORNING!!!

The white album version is so much better than any live version you hear (on the Dance)

Do they perform this song on the current tour? How does the live version sound?

THey've done it on every MAC tour since 1975 except the TAngo in the night, behind the mask and TIme tours (Becuase lindsey wasn't in the band!) You can see it on the DANCE DVD or the new FM LIVE in BOSTON DVD (From teh say you will tour) or on the dance live cd.

Lynseys blistering guitar on the live track from the 1980 Live CD set totally kicks ass!!!! One of the best guitar solos I have ever heard in my entire life!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Lyndsey Buckingham is so under-rated!!!!

biggrin Buckingham does indeed rock, but I like a lot of his solo stuff more than this song, not to mention his other songs penned for the Mac. Even "Second Hand News" kicks my ass. Ever notice how a lot of Buckingham/Nicks (individually and collectively) Fleetwood Mac songs have a country tinge to them? A lot of songs from Rumors lend themselves to country music.

Btw, is Lindsey's solo album Out of the Cradle still in print?

Hopefully we'll get Lindsey's next solo album and tour soon! I'm feeling Mac'd out believe it or not!

That song is called "Big Love" from 1987's Tango in the Night record.
