LL Cool J Appreciation Thread -- List your favorite LL tracks! I just struck me, after listening to an old LL track and later seeing one of his more recent videos, how it seems that LL's true contribution to the hip-hop game gets obscured by his recent crossover appeal.
He's the first solo MC I remember who established a successful career on his own and he was a very good lyricist. He brought pure energy to the mic. To me, he's the prototype for a lot most if not all solo MC's in the game. Anyone know why he rocked the bells (Kangols) back in the day? I mean, it's only been recently that we've actually seen him without a cap. Why did we never see him without it for all those years? | |
