More news on Marilyn Manson's new film Manson is 'Fantastic' in New Movie
Shock rocker Marilyn Manson's make-up-free performance in the upcoming movie 'The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things' has been hailed a triumph by the writer, who labels the singer "fantastic." The Asia Argento movie - in which Manson stars alongside Hollywood stars Peter Fonda and Winona Ryder - features the controversial heavy metal icon without his trademark face paint, and his acting skills proved to be a hit with the film's crew. According to author JT LeRoy, who wrote the book on which the film's based, admits any reservations he had about having his character Jackson portrayed by Manson were soon abolished. He says, "He's just fantastic in this film. It's a really hard film, and it's a really hard role. People usually like their demons straight up; they don't like it when they're made sympathetic." "But there's a pathetic/sympathetic thing to that character, and he really pulls it off." Manson has recorded new tracks for the soundtrack to the movie which is set to hit cinemas this summer. That's true only because those award ceremonies are fixed. Manson could give the performance of the century, but because he isn't an established actor, he won't get any Oscars.

If the film does well, he may get awards for best new actor or some shit. He'd probably get an MTV movie award. i've been waiting for him to star in a movie for quite a while...very curious about this.
a couple of years back there was talk about tim burton remaking 'willie wonka and the chocolat factory' with MM as willie wonka. Thought that was a great idea...a shame it never came to pass. It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

That's cuz Disney didn't want someone like Manson playing the part. It was between Manson and Johnny Depp, who said he would have no problem letting Manson get the role. But anyways, Depp got it. No hard feelings of course cuz they're good friends. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

If he's really good, some film critics' circles will recognize him.

I agree it might not be commercial enough to get nominated for any MTV Movie awards. Is it independent? He could get a Spirit award.

He never was up for the part, nor was he interested. It all stemmed from his Wonka themed video for "Dope Hat", which some pimply faced teen saw a still from and got it in his head that MM was doing the movie. To clarify, Depp was asked in an interview about the rumour, and that was when he said he wouldn't have had a problem giving up the role to his friend Manson. This was long after Depp was cast, and filming began. Just thought I would clear that up, since the rumour became so prevelant on the net. It was clear in the interview that MM was annoyed by the whole thing, and really was tired of being asked about it. I'm definitely looking forward to the flick. His performance is getting quite a buzz.

Hmm, I dunno. I remember Manson saying he wanted the role because of his fascination with the original film. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was based on some truth. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "
