Scott Storch (Aguilera, and other ramblings)

I'm feeling his stuff as of late. Yeah, yeah, he's another "go-to" producer at the moment, but at least he's not as oversaturated like the Neptunes are (yet), not heavily lauded like Kanye West, but he cranks out the phat beats. I'm feeling his work on:

Janet - Island Life
Fat Joe featuring Terror Squad - Lean Back
Christina Aguilera - Loving Me For Me
Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z - Crazy In Love

He's versatile. He can write songs and produce hot tracks. I'm still vibing off of "Crazy In Love" a summer later and "Lean Back" is the hip hop song of the summer. Can't wait to hear what he cooks up with Gwen Stefani on her upcoming solo LP.

What other tracks has this guy worked on? Who is he rumored to be working with?

I love "Loving Me For Me", but my favorite is Christina's "Walk Away".

That's a nice track as well. Did he also produce that? I love "Cruz."

Yep, I know he produced "Walk Away", but I'm not sure about "Cruz", which I also love. The whole Stripped album is pretty great, I think.

"Stripped" is the bomb. I don't give a damn what anyone says. The album is solid and you can play it from beginning 'til end. Love "Make Over," "Infatuation," "Singing My Song" all that stuff. No wonder it's still getting play in the clubs a year later. I think Christina can pump out another video from that record and still produce a hit.

I agree, and I always thought "Make Over" would make a good single. I'm really looking for ward to Christina's next album, it's supposed to be real mellow and jazzy.

Did you get a chance to see her on the Stripped/Justified tour? A lot of people say she doesn't have great stage presence, but I thought she was a great performer. She really got the crowd going, seemed down-to-earth, and her voice sounded even more amazing live.

I want to check out the Stripped... Live In The UK DVD, but I'm trying to stay from anything Timberfake related, so it's going to be a while before I see the Mustified/Stripped DVD. I'm curious though. What's the best performance on there? Do you have (or have seen) the Stripped UK DVD? Any good?

Oh, really? I think that'll be good. I hope Mariah puts out a good album for us. I actually liked a lot of stuff from Charmbracelet, especially "Bringing on the Heartbreak", and my favorite is "Subtle Invitation".

Yes, yes on "Subtle Invitation." I still play that track. "Charmbracelet" was definitely a step up from "Rainbow," I'll tell ya that much.

...should be duly noted that Scott was one of the original members of The Roots and had produced several cuts for them as well horns

She'kspere was last heard on the "JUST WHITNEY" album (one of those days)
Poke and Tone were on the last Jlo album.
I use to love poke and tone, esp their ALLURE produced album

I think Christina was at her best when she just stood and sang her ass off. I would love to see her in a small setting, just singing.

I wasn't crazy about the album Stripped, but I loved "Walk Away."

Well, the Stripped UK DVD doesn't have anything Timberfake on it, so you should check it out when it's released. I haven't seen the DVD, but I saw the show here in Philly and it was great.

My favorite parts of the show were her renditions of Etta James' "At Last" and "I Prefer You", the acoustic version of "Come on Over Baby", "Get Mine, Get Yours", "Walk Away" (where the premise of the performance was her being infauated with a male stripper, but it was done very tastefully and very sexy, you only saw his shadow behind a screen), "Dirrty", "Fighter", and "Beautiful". She also did an awesome new remix of "Genie in a Bottle", and "Make Over" was great as well. She also did a Spanish set, which was beautiful. And that was only the half of it!

The lastest date they're giving on her official website (for the DVD to be released) is September 28th.

Here is the setlist:

STRIPPED INTRO (Video Intro)
DIRRTY
GET MINE, GET YOURS
THE VOICE WITHIN
GENIE IN A BOTTLE (Arabian Mix)
CAN'T HOLD US DOWN
MAKE OVER
CONTIGO EN LA DISTANCIA (With You in the Distance)
FALSAS ESPERANZAS (False Hopes)
INFATUATION
COME ON OVER BABY (ALL I WANT IS YOU) (Acoustic Rendition)
IMPOSSIBLE
AT LAST
I PREFER YOU
LADY MARMALADE (Shortened Rendition)
WALK AWAY
STRIPPED PT. 2 (Video Interlude)
FIGHTER
WHAT A GIRL WANTS
BEAUTIFUL
