Oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot "Everytime", "Son of a Gun", and "I Want You"! I chose not to include the other ones because "You", though one of my all-time favorites, really wasn't a single, and neither was "Just a Little While". Great bonus features you listed, though, especially "What About", "Throb", "Ask for More", and Time Out with the Kids. biggrin

Actually, "You" was an international single with a commercial release in Japan and promos in the UK. And JALW can definitely be called a single.

Here's my ideal tracklisting:

1. BET Awards Intro
2. That's The Way Love Goes
3. If (Radio Edit)
4. Because Of Love
5. Anytime, Anyplace (R. Kelly Mix Single Edit)
6. You Want This (LP Edit)
7. Again
8. Got 'Til It's Gone (Radio Edit)
9. Together Again (Radio Edit)
10. I Get Lonely (LP Edit)
11. Go Deep
12. Everytime (Jam & Lewis Disco Mix)
13. You (Single Edit)
14. All For You (Radio Edit)
15. Someone To Call My Lover (Single Edit)
16. Son Of A Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You) (Radio Edit)
17. Come On Get Up (Radio Version)
18. Just A Little While (Single Radio Edit)
19. I Want You (Radio Edit)
20. All Nite (Don't Stop)
21. R&B Junkie
22. Doesn't Really Matter (Radio Edit)

I want to close with DRM so people are more likely to remember how great Janet can be instead of leaving with memories of the relatively weak hits off DJ.

Yes, I didn't mean to say they weren't singles, I meant they weren't hits.

The R. Kelly mix is a jam, kiddie fixations aside, but I doubt they'll throw a non-Jam & Lewis mix on a Janet studio retrospective. Probably be good bonus disc, import material.

Well the mix of Alright on DOAD is by Shep Pettibone, but that was an A&M comp, so no idea what Virgin's policies are like. The international edition also had a CJ Mackintosh mix of The Best Things In Life Are Free.

You feel me?! I think a "Time Out with the Kids" featurette would be awesome. I loved the featurette on the Rhythm Nation VHS back in '89 when they had the dancers rehearsing the choreography in the mini-film. The classic part was when one of the dancers was doing the "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" part with their hand and they stuck up a middle finger at the camera! CLASSIC! lol

I loved that! I also loved Janet and the kids on the All For You special edition DVD, when they were doing the radio interview, and the video rehearsals on the janet. video tape! I love the kids, and I miss the "old-school" RN and janet. kids! They really were like a little family, huh? biggrin

I agree. The black-and-white shot doc footage from the janet. era was cute. You definitely could feel the family vibe with the Kids from the RN1814 through TVR eras. Starting unraveling after Tina Landon left. The current crop of kids seem cool, but I don't know their names or follow them nearly as much as the prior generation of velvet babies.

Who were your favorite Kids?

Mine were Shawnette (janet., TVR, AFY) and Aminah (DJ). I like that girl from the "You Want This" video who had the spanish accent.

There is no album edit. That was the single version. It's a really good mix confused .

well, there's a video edit of the album track. and there's something called "the jam & lewis mix" or something of the like that's about 4:30 on some ATAP promo. never have been able to find it or download it, but i'm assuming it's either an album edit or a slightly altered take on the album version.

oddly, the Pettibone remixes of Alright have always sounded like they're the regular version of the song, and the album version sounds like a remix. or the kind they used to call a dub back then. it's like they thought "hey, this would be a great song if it didn't degenerate into all that silly vocal editing at the end" and fixed it with the single. plus, the production (especially the horn synths) sound a lot richer on the single version.

NEW YORK - Janet Jackson will guest-star as herself in an upcoming episode of the NBC sitcom "Will & Grace."

The episode will air on Sept. 23, Jackson told syndicated entertainment TV show "Access Hollywood" in an interview that aired Monday.

Her last prime-time role was as Cleo Hewitt on NBC's "Fame" (1984-85). She also appeared in the TV comedies "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Good Times."

When asked about the upcoming "Will & Grace" episode, Jackson said it involves Sean Hayes' character, Jack McFarland, "trying out as a dancer."

"There's a little bit of a routine and they go on to do their thing from there," she said in excerpts of the interview posted on the "Access Hollywood" Web site. "It's so funny. I have to catch myself because I'm cracking up in rehearsals. It's just funny to watch them. It's hilarious."

THAT'S HOT!!!

I LOVE Will & Grace, and Janet was great on SNL so I think it'll be hilarious!

That's why it's the single version. wink

The Alright remixes completely eclipse the LP Version.

I dig the 12" R&B Mix of Alright moreso than the album version. The Heavy D rap is awesome (LOL! I've been using the word "awesome" a lot lately).

I think Janet might be suffering depression. Did you catch her at the Teen awards or whatever that thing was with Paris and Nicole hosting? She was out of shape. I bet the whole overblown superbowl debacle (which wouldn't die), her album and singles flopping (unjustly i might add. It's as good as any of Janet's post-Control albums) and no mention of a tour. Now she's guesting on Will and Grace, a show woefully past it's prime. And who HASN'T guested on this show? The only noteworthy mention is Minnie Driver, and she's pretty much a cast member.

I haven't watched Will & Grace since the third season. I got tired of seeing Grace smooching with every other guest star while Will got to pat ONE guest-star on the back - like Steven and Luke in Dynasty and that was friggin' twenty years ago! stab
I find it appalling that American TV hasn't come any further in all that time. pout

She looked gorgeous at the Teen Choice Awards. Out of shape? I'd like to see a picture of you if you think Janet's out of shape. And so what even if she was? She's a regular person, just like everyone else. If she gained a few pounds, why scrutinize it? She'll always be beautiful.

I think Janet looked great at the Teen Choice Awards. She weighed a bit more than usual, but I never liked teeny-weeny Janet. She looks good w/weight.

It's not lost on me that the episode that Janet was on on SNL is the one that was nominated for an Emmy this year. I think she has terrific comedic timing. I hate W&G, but I'll be watching this one.

And I am so ashamed that after watching Janet on Good Morning America (or was it Ryan Seacrest?), that I ran out and bought a pair of black and white Chuck Taylors, just like the ones she wears. I'm such a sheep...sad lol
