Superstar Alan Jackson Unveils New Album
What I Do, Releasing September 7

Debut Single “Too Much of a Good Thing” Riding High on the Charts

July 22, 2004

NASHVILLE, TN – Grammy-winning Arista Nashville superstar Alan Jackson does what he does with the easy grace and standard-setting style that’s sold more than 43 million albums, and now Jackson is back with What I Do, his 14th career album, set for release September 7. With longtime producer Keith Stegall once again at the helm, What I Do sports 14 new, slice-of-life tracks, including the welcoming groove of the disc’s debut single, the Jackson-penned chart climber, “Too Much of a Good Thing.”

What I Do follows the mammoth success of Jackson’s triple-Platinum Greatest Hits Volume II, which tallied an amazing 11 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and repeated the success of his previous studio album, Drive, by topping Billboard’s pop and country album charts in its first week of release.

Earlier this year, Jackson notched his 21st chart-topping single as a writer/artist with the wistful beauty of “Remember When,” and the reigning CMA Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year is poised to extend that accomplishment, having written or co-written seven of the 14 tracks for What I Do. Tracks and songwriters are as follows (sequence pending):

“Too Much of a Good Thing” – Alan Jackson
“Love Is Bittersweet” – Alan Jackson
“You Don't Have to Paint Me a Picture” – Alan Jackson
“If French Fries Were Fat Free” – Alan Jackson
“Rainy Day in June” – Alan Jackson
“USA Today” – Alan Jackson
“That's What I'd Be Like Without You” – Alan Jackson/Don Sampson
“There Ya Go” - Keith Stegall/Dan Hill
“Burnin' the Honky Tonks Down” – Shawn Camp/Billy Burnette
“Monday Morning Church” – Erin Enderlin/Brent Baxter
“Strong Enough” – Adam Wright
“If Love Was a River” – Adam Wright/Shannon T. Wright
“To Do What I Do” – Tim Johnson
“The Talkin' Song Repair Blues” – Dennis Linde

Fans can soon be watching for a music video for “Too Much of a Good Thing,” filmed live on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry earlier this month. This week, “Too Much of a Good Thing” moves to #15* at Billboard and #13* at R&R.

Don't knock country, the genre sells more albums than most current artist. Somebody likes it. Then again, you may be the only one here. no hard feelings. sad
