In any case,i expect Gman1966 to show his face around here any minute now.He takes advantage of EVERY opportunity to bash Madonna, lol. I was just gonna say isn't it funny that on an Usher thread, Usher gets zero attention? He's not worthy! He's not worthy! (see, I tied in a little Wayne's World/Madonna tribute for y'all, see)

She never said she "couldn't" sing Ahhhhh, but she should have just admitted the truth LAWD, lemme take my ass to bed

I literally cringed the whole time. It was terrible! As has been stated several times already, Madonna's an entertainer not a singer. She can't sing live. She's even admitted this herself (watch Truth or Dare), but this performance was unbearable. She said "im not the best singer and im not the best dancer." She never said she "couldn't" sing Not saying it ouright, but she said it. Nonetheless, that's my problem with the new and improved Madonna. On the Blonde Ambition tour, she sounded like crap, but still...it's my favorite tour of hers, because she wasn't as obsessed with proving her prowess as a singer. She was concerned with getting a message across, and now any message takes second stage to her desire to show everyone that she can sing well, play guitar well, dance well, etc.

David-Eye Take A Bow was live and awful both Babyface and Madonna
sucked royally that night...just listen to her "all the world is a stage.." & what she does to the word clown She's quite the inconsistent live singer the ROL & AL promo gigs where horrendous, she sounded like a crow..Her singing is like her acting, it's like she's vogueing, she goes at it line per line.. But on the current Re-invetion tour she seems 2 b in great vocal shape soundbite: http://s11.yousendit.com/...D232F26312 'Rolling Stone': After twenty years in the limelight, Madonna is expected to cause controversy and reinvent herself for every new tour. So for the May 24th Los Angeles opening of her Re-Invention world trek, Madonna did the most unexpected thing she could: She came back as a great concert singer. Even the most diehard Madonna fan will concede that her live performances have almost without exception been plagued by a multitude of missed notes, breathy passages, and, as of late, fake British accents. But while Mariah and Whitney have of been losing the acrobatic vocal dexterity and lung power on which their reputations rest, forty-five-year-old Madonna, whom few have ever taken seriously as a musician, has never sounded better than she did during the first of several gigs in her adopted West Coast home... ...Your coochie gonna swell up and fall apart...

A year or two ago, there was a news story about a concert near Oakland (in Concord) where the concertgoers nearly rioted afterward. They were blocking tunnels, doing donuts on the freeway, and generally being idiots. I was waiting to hear that it was a 50 cent concert or Slipknot or something, and they said it was Usher!!! I just couldn't believe that anyone who considered themselves bad boys would listen to Usher. Maybe the concert was so tame that they felt the need to do something wild.
I actually dislike Usher more than Justin Timberlake, because Justin at least seems nice; Usher seems conceited. Check this song out at:

Kylie Minogue Christina Aguilera Madonna Really? -Kylie: Light Years Tour, Fever Tour 2002, Body Language Live, and most live performances. She's known for being a pretty consistent live singer (much better than Madonna, at least). -Madonna's sung live on most of her tours (Virgin Tour, Drowned World Tour, most of Reinvention) [This message was edited Tue Aug 10 14:45:43 2004 by VoicesCarry]

Some shocking developments in this thread:
-some people will always like Madonna, and her voice -some people will always hate Madonna, and her voice You aren't gonna change anyone's opinion, btw. But the Reinvention threads in July were full of praise for her vocal performance, so do most of you base your opinions of the tours solely on the DVDs? Madonna's voice weakens as the tour progresses, obviously (and they always film the tours during the closing legs, which sucks). [This message was edited Tue Aug 10 14:45:02 2004 by VoicesCarry]

I aint surprised one bit. Everybody is making such a big hooha about Usher or Ursher as I call him and he just isn't nobody that gets me excited. He's talented, but not like my ol man (Prince) or Stevie Wonder or anybody else I would pay to see live.
I just listened to Tom Joyner last week and that's when I first heard that Usher was going on tour and he said his show is gonna be hotter that Prince. You know my response: BULLSHIT!!!. Usher couldn't be a pimple on Prince's ass.

Madonna is not even a GOOD singer while sitting on a stool! Put some dancing on that & it only gets worse. The only thing "fabulous" about her singing is the fact that she's made a living at it for so long being SO half assed, hate to break it to you And NO, I've never been fool enough to pay $ to attend her show but I've seen the bitch perform live enough times on TV to "trash talk" about her. Damn, y'all some BITCHES up in here This is 4th grade shit for real you need to see the re-INVENTION tour. you'll be amazed at how good she sounds. even while standing still. better yet, while dancing, and also as she's playing guitar. very good for a novice-player, and outstanding for something going through such a physically demanding show. if you haven't seen the re-INVENTION show, then you don't know how well she can sing. i'm a lifelong fan, and even I was shocked! Well that speaks volumes about how you're used to her sounding doesn't it? Come on, let's just be real. I'm glad if her voice has gotten better in recent years but it would take a throat transplant to turn her into a "great" singer. Just my opinion . Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think she knows how to sell a song, even if her voice isn't technically perfect. "Live To Tell", "Till Death Do Us Part", "Like A Prayer", "Oh Father", "Keep It Together", etc. are great examples of this. Regardless of your tastes, I think you can admit that It's a hell of a lot stronger than the sterile likes of Britney, J.Lo or many of the other pop stars we're being subjected to these days.
