Anxy's Moldy Oldy Of The Day: HELLO IT'S ME by Todd Rundgren Hello, it's me I've thought about us for a long, long time Maybe I think too much but something's wrong There's something here that doesn't last too long Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine Seeing you Or seeing anything as much as I do you I take for granted that you're always there I take for granted that you just don't care Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through It's important to me That you know you are free 'Cause I never want to make you change for me Think of me You know that I'd be with you if I could I'll come around to see you once in a while Or if I ever need a reason to smile And spend the night if you think I should It's important to me That you know you are free 'Cause I never want to make you change for me Think of me You know that I'd be with you if I could I'll come around to see you once in a while Or if I ever need a reason to smile And spend the night if you think I should Think of me... Think of me... Think of me

I agree, I love both versions. I love the breezy feel, punchy piano and guitar work of Rundgren's version. However, Ron Isley's voice is priceless on the remake and Ernie's guitar work is sublime. [This message was edited Fri Aug 6 16:32:00 2004 by DorothyParkerWasCool]

I like the stop/start intro as he does it in the studio on his Something/Anything album. Never heard the first version by the Nazz. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I'm sure Todd's predates Prince's by quite a few years. That picture looks like it could be from the '77 Pyramid Tour. An Ice/Glass guitar was also used that gets smashed during the set. This tour also featured John "Willie" Wilcox's motorcycle drum kit. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. ya know, come to think of it, i'm listening to a todd rundgren greatest hits disc over and over here at work tonight (i'm sure my co-workers just LOOOVE me), and a lot of prince's prettier, more introspective stuff from the '80s reminds me a lot of what i'm listening to right now.
