I'm sorry but American Dream wasn't all that great either...I mean, the scenes with them as little boys being the jackson 5 were cool....but the acting sucked and I'm sorry....Angela Bassett's portrayal of Katherine Jackson was way off the mark...she was NOT that strong.

Anyway, back to the Man in the MIrror movie

I agree with Musicology because one thing that was TOTALLY unnecessary (and STUPID) was tying in the Sept 11 attack footage. What the HELL does that have to do with Michael Jackson? NOTHING.

They also tried to tie in the O.J. Simpson car chase...un-freakin'-believable.. confused

I know this may not be totally related to the subject, but I have been a big Michael Jackson AND Prince fan for over 20 years. I have been a member of fan clubs for both. One thing I can say is that I enjoy being part of a Prince club better, because his fans are far more sophisticated and don't have a problem criticizing him for something that he might do that they don't like, or saying that they don't like a particular song, album, etc. Most Michael fans I have encountered are out of touch with reality, and will never say anything bad about him no matter what he does, and no matter how bad an album or song is he might release.

That's because most of us here are adults. We realize that Prince is human and not perfect. We are discussing his music here. It's fine to disagree, most of us don't take it personally it's just a matter of taste. We can fight with someone on a particular thread and go into another thread and totally agree with that person you just fought with on a different subject.

Like I said Prince is human and there are going to be particular things he does that we don't like but we all basically love him as a whole.

The brothers were in the film a total of 2 minutes. And the women who played Ms. Ross, what the hell was that. They also made child Mike have a jhiri curl and a mustache at 13.

The Main In The Mirror: The MJ Story was brief and the characters were pretty weak. I mean, some of the parts in the movie like the concert parts were just insane. The Jacksons played instruments and danced. In this flim, the actors who play The Jacksons just dance and they don't even look like the real ones. I think it should've been called "The Pesonal Life Of MJ". Flex Alexander couldn't even dance like MJ, but he sure talked and acted like him. It really didn't focus on the music that much. In the flim, it has the Thriller-era, Bad-era, and Dangerous-era. His childhood parts were very, very brief. The young actor that played young Michael really looked like him. I think this should've been split into two parts: 1-His childhood and teenlife-- 2: His adult years; from Off The Wall to probably Invincible. And another thing that really disappointed me was that some of these parts wasn't even true. How could Papa Joe have a machine gun in his house? They really made up some stuff. Overall, I liked some of the parts, but to me some of them were just overkilled. I taped the whole movie. The movies, Moonwalker from 1988 and The Jacksons: An American Dream from 1992, are by far, the best Michael Jackson stories...

You're obviously visiting the wrong MJ fan boards. MJJF is best for news and updates, but if you want to criticise MJ or any part of his music you can't. Go somewhere else. Don't go to the KOP Discussion because they've all been fans for about 5 minutes and love talking about stuff most of us were talking about 10-15 years ago like it's new information.

Dotmusic was the BEST for a nice balanced fan chat, but it's shut down now and it's just me and a few of the others hanging about here: http://s3.invisionfree.co...hp?act=idx

The MJNI coard used to be great for long and balanced discussion with no repercussions for stating your opinion. You'll have to search a lot to find a thread like that in the last year. It's turned into a cliquey place for about 10 people to talk about their personal lives.

Tis movie was soooo bad. Every time I think about, I fall over laughing, almost to the point of tears. We couldn't even watch it. I kept turning back, thinking it had to get better. It got to the point that my boyfriend actually got pissed every time I turned back to it. "WHY ARE WE WATCHING THIS AGAIN?!" Of course I found this funny, and kept turning it back just to annoy him.giggle But he started getting REALLY MAD every time I turned to it. This has to do down as one of the worst movies in history. The only thing that I could think of that's worse is pooty-tang. lol

The movie was absolute GARBAGE toilet Flex must realy be upon hard times to have agreed to lead this cheesy, subpar, cheap waste of film...It is a total disgrace. It is my wish that a reputable producer come forward to make a Jackson film worth watching. Regardless of Michael's legal problems and such, there is still a great story to be told. The Jackson family really did make history and Michael is still one of the greatest artists ever!!! Hey Steven Speilberg, Sophia Coppola, even Quentin Tartatino.....anyone - HELP!!! headlp

The movie was garbage, but I expected that. It was unauthorized anyway, so whatever. Try the R Kelly story, more interesting. VH1 is certified garbage by itself. They should produce more music oriented shows like 'Driven', 'Bands Reunited', bring back 'Behind the Music'. I'm tired of those "Best Week Ever", "Fabulous Life of...", "Awesomely Bad...", bullshit. That ugly woman, Wendy whatever her name is should stick to radio, I don't want to see her face. Gross!!!

I don't even mean just websites, but just MJ fans in general think that it is a sin to say anything bad about MJ. I was a fan of his long before the internet, and I am going just on the interaction I've had with MJ fans over the years. It makes when he does something good seem anticlimactic because they say he's great no matter what. Even if he winds up being totally guilty in this latest controversy (and we have to see all of the evidence), these people will still justify everything and say he was "framed" or something. So many of his fans are so out of touch, and he himself buys into it all.

It's just too soon for a movie like this. The story hasn't played all the way out yet, nor are there enoguh hard facts known. 10-20 years from now, the real Michael Jackson story will make one hell of a movie.
