Isley Brothers and Hendrix : " Move Over (and let me dance)" I was just thinking--People reference Hendrix's playing on the Isley Brothers' "Testify" as a signpost to where a young Hendrix would soon be heading , But IMO, 1965's "Move Over And Let Me Dance " is even more revealing--not just for Hendrix and his playing, but also because of the sound and the structure of the song, and, notably, because of Ron Isley's vocals--he's doing a kind of seductive purr/come-on that would later become a Hendrix staple, particularly on songs like "Foxy Lady"... I agree. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I have "It's Your Thing: The Story of the Isley Brothers" but I never listen to the first cd. "Testify" and "Move Over" are on it, so I'm gonna check 'em out! | |
