Actress Eartha Kitt Injured in Car Crash



WESTPORT, Conn. - Actress and singer Eartha Kitt, the original Catwoman on the "Batman" television show, suffered minor injuries when the vehicle she was driving collided with another car and flipped over, police said.
Kitt, 77, of Weston, was treated at Norwalk Hospital and released, hospital officials said.

The accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Compo and Post Roads, said Sgt. Jerry Shannon. Kitt's Land Rover was crossing Post Road when it collided with a car, causing her car to roll over onto its roof, police said.

Kitt's two poodles were in the car but escaped injury.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

No offense to Eartha, and I don't begrudge her her health, but nobody can touch Julie Newmar when it comes to playing Catwoman. The first time I saw that woman I was smitten, and I was only seven! Lee Meriweather who? Michelle Pfeiffer what? Eartha huh? As far as catwomen go, it's ALL Julie ALL the time for me.

i saw eartha perform at cafe carlysle in NYC, oh, probably five or so years ago. the woman was 72 and she could kick her leg OVER HER HEAD...WHILE STANDING.

Eartha Kitt to me is the definitive Catwoman. She's so feline.

i think julie newmar was the campiest catwoman...in my opinion, eartha was the sexiest and scariest catwoman. she just didn't mess around.
