smells like teen spirit - nirvana

way tto overapreciate it, every poll you see on tv trying to put together the top10 or top100 best songs of all time always ends with that one. why? it's good but come on it's not the best song ever. i just don't understand some people think it is.

I personally like al yankovics take on it a lot better.

this song needs to go nighty night

'Cause Kurt Cobain killed himself?

One of the only artists/bands not to become overrated in the aftermath of a suicide/death is Joy Division, which, unfortunately, is somewhat obscure if you're not in the right age bracket. They certainly don't get remembered the way Nirvana does. Stupid, huh?

Imagine--John Lennon

I love the song so much I hate to see it worn out.

Almost every classic song needs to be retired. All these classic groups are only known by one or two songs.

Lynrd Skynrd--Sweet Home Alabama
Led Zeppelin--Stairway to Heaven
Steve Miller--Rockin Me Baby
Heatwave (?)--Always & Forever
Eagles--Hotel California
Parliament--Flashlight
Elvis Costello--Alison
Ray Charles--Georgia
Louis Armstrong--What a Wonderful World
Prince--Kiss

Especially in gay bars, it drives me up a friggin wall that it HAS to be played in any retro room or at any Pride Fest. It's reaaaaalllly got to stop.

Sad, cuz at one time it was a fun song. You know it needs to be retired if it's been done to death on American Idol.

This song has been played to death! I love it and it's one of the Commodore's funkiest jams ever, but let's give it a rest already. These days,I'd rather hear other Commodores jams that don't get much airplay or attention...."Slippery When Wet"...."Gimme My Mule"...."Too Hot Ta Trot"....."Fancy Dancer".
