I saw this post on the home page when I logged in, how did I know it was you Nep2nes lol.

George was cool but it was definatly John & Paul who were the main guys as far as songs go. Correct me if Im wrong.

No offence to Georgie as I really dig songs like Here comes the sun & stuff like that but it was John & paul who could write a good pop song. George came out of his shell when the sikodelic thing took hold on the beatles cos he was good at writing differently & challenging conventional ideas.

I remember when the poor dude got stabbed as I was driving near his house shortly after & saw hundreds of Police, Ambulences & fans gathered all over the place.

George Harrison RIP

Good Taste nep2nes

OMG--U went by after he was stabbed?? eek cry

Even tho' he is gone..thos bastards r still gonna pay!evil

Anyway, yeah..Im obsessed biggrin..U know how it is...
And yes, it was mainly John and Paul who did the songs but 2wards the end George got more space 2 do his own stuff. I moslty admire his personality and his lyrics read like poetry 4 me, I enjoy them moreso in that way.

Yes, J&P wrote the best pop songs, set the standard, etc etc

But geroge was the underdog and had to fight for his space, the younges tof them all, and in the end, his music sounded the most mature and thought provoking.

Not to take anything away from John, who is probably still my favourite. Even up to Milk&Honey, but not so sure about "Shaved Fish"

Then again, Geroge's Extra Texture...nah...every artist has their downtimes, we all know that.

Anyways, Im rambling...but George knew where it was at. Never tried to cash in on the Beatles, didnt want to talk about them endlessly, a la Macca!

I guess they all go based on talent...Ringo will b last...sorry

Yes mate I went by. Didnt see anything but saw a comotion at least.

I love Georges songs too though. I love here comes the sun man thats a tune.

No need to make him pay mate. It ends up that after intense inquirey from the police that the guy who stabbed him is not of sound mind at all. Its a shame really thought it doesnt excuse his actions.

Apparently he thinks the Beatles are witches & wears headphones wherever he goes to block out their music lol. In the words of Prince 'MAD'!

As much as I love George, George did do drugs with the rest of them, even during their early days in Hamburg, when he was young and still naive. It was Paul who hesitated at first, and even after trying drugs, he wasnt as addicted as the others. George was big on hash, and he had his LSD trips like the others. Ringo was an alcoholic, and John was hooked on heroin.Sux huh.sad

In late years, George was very sober and concentrated on his gardening..lol..and car racing. His favorite hobbies.
